AIBU think that f you grill something, you wash the rack and pan each time, even if it is just cheese on toast?

Erm. I wouldn't. Even IF a bit of cheese had fallen on it I would pick pick the cheese off slovenly

just5morepeas · 09/01/2018 19:51

I don't wash it each time. I think sometimes you've got to accept that you have different standards when it comes to housework. It's either that or spend all your time arguing.

Unless he's a total slob and does sod all, of course.

People clean the grill pan after every use? Confused

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 09/01/2018 19:52

I wouldn’t bother if it was just bread touching it. I would aim not to have cheese overhang.

Bluedoglead · 09/01/2018 19:53

Line the grill pan and bin the foil every so often.

Julie8008 · 09/01/2018 19:53

What every time? Why?

64BooLane · 09/01/2018 19:54

I do feel like it should be washed every time, but I don’t wash it every time myself, I just tolerate the niggling guilt.

So YANBU, but also YABU.

NannyR · 09/01/2018 19:57

I agree that you should wash it after use, after all you would wash a baking tray, roasting dish or frying pan after use and it isn't anymore hassle to wash a grill pan than it is to wash a frying pan.

Topseyt · 09/01/2018 19:58

I line it with foil before cooking. Then afterwards once the fat has cooled and set I roll up the foil and bin it.

With a bit of luck it hasn't leaked so only the rack will need a wash.

Iliketeabagging · 09/01/2018 19:59

Only if dirty. A quick wipe is often all that is required.

TwigTheWonderKid · 09/01/2018 20:02

Until recently I was a grill slob, however I had our oven professionally cleaned before Xmas and realised what the grill is capable of looking like (plus it was my £45 that paid for that, not DH's) so I realise a pristine rack is a possibility but only if you clean it every single time ( even cheese on toast seems to leave some kind of residue).
