Kissing emoticon

I met someone from Tinder for a first date last week, and we've arranged a next date for this week.

He sent a message with a kissing emoticon at the end - should I put one at the end of my reply?

(I know I'm overthinking this!!! Blush)

No

Do what you're comfortable with.

Tippz · 07/01/2018 15:24

It's OK. I think you are overthinking things.

I do it quite often.

Good luck. x

DailyMailFuckOffNow · 07/01/2018 15:31

Thanks everyone :)

Keep us posted though!

😘

I met someone a few weeks ago and he will often use the kissing emoticon especially when texting goodnight.

Just use what you feel comfortable with. I don't really use that emoticon so I sign off with a simple x.

DailyMailFuckOffNow · 07/01/2018 15:47

Not sure Blush should I put two 'x's? I know it sounds mad but I'm not sure I feel comfortable yet, for a few different reasons. I hardly know him, and haven't ever dated before. I think I'm a bit of a prude - and want to take things reeeally slowly Blush Hopefully he'll understand. Or he might just find someone else Blush

Just put a smiley face. Or one x. Or nothing.

If he dumps you over an emoji you’ve had a lucky escape!

pollythedolly · 07/01/2018 15:51

xx is fine. I use that to all my family and friends so it says very little really but ends the text nicely.

TeeniefaeTroon · 07/01/2018 15:52

I find if I put 2 kisses it automatically puts the kissing emoticon, perhaps that's what's happened? 😘

DailyMailFuckOffNow · 07/01/2018 15:55

Ooh maybe @TeeniefaeTroon. He's French though, and all of the French people I've known (French friends, I mean) have never used x's. They've tended to just say 'bises' or 'bisous' or to put hearts on the end of their messages. I'm so nervous and wary, but I really like him. I just don't want to be a burden and to piss him off by taking things too slowly. I'm just a bit of a neurotic overthinking people-pleaser Blush

True @AtrociousCircumstance!

I've gone for two x's. (Definitely overthinking this! 🙈 🙄)

My experience of French men - or at least when I was a lot younger is that they tend to tell you they’re in love with you very quickly. It seems to have been standard code for getting you into bed. Dh is French. Despite texting in English for years, he’d never use xx. Have fun.

DailyMailFuckOffNow · 07/01/2018 16:07

Oh god MummyofLittleDragon Shock hopefully he'll understand if I tell him that I'd like to take it slowly. How was your experience with your DH?

Do people really need to check with strangers on the internet before they make these kinds of decisions for themselves?

Vitalogy · 07/01/2018 16:21

I wouldn't do kiss until I'd met him.

DailyMailFuckOffNow · 07/01/2018 16:28

Vitalogy we've already met.

OP posts:
DailyMailFuckOffNow · 07/01/2018 16:28

Fairenuff yes.

OP posts:
pollythedolly · 07/01/2018 16:48

Fair come on. This is a nice thread and OP is unsure and a bit unconfident about this.

Carry on OP, we need to follow this story now Grin

Fairenuff · 07/01/2018 17:00

What's the story? If you can't make those decision for yourself, maybe you're not ready to date/interact with people in real life.

DailyMailFuckOffNow · 07/01/2018 17:43

Maybe Fairenuff. I'm not sure what you mean when you say what's the story, though. I've explained the situation in my OP and my other posts in the thread.

OP posts:
Vitalogy · 07/01/2018 17:52

Oh sorry, I should have read OP properly. Well, if you like him then lots of kisses Grin
More importantly nosey me have you had a real kiss with him you can ignore this question I won't be offended

Fairenuff · 07/01/2018 17:53

Other posters have referred to this as a 'story' OP.

DailyMailFuckOffNow · 07/01/2018 18:08

Oh sorry Fair Blush the situation is that we just matched on Tinder, then went for a drink last week and have been messaging on Tinder since then. Have arranged to meet up again this week.

OP posts:
pollythedolly · 07/01/2018 18:09

Sounding promising! How was the date last week?
