How to word a text to ex

Going to text my ex to tell him what week I’m thinking of taking DS away on summer holiday, so that he knows that’s a week not to book off for having him.

However, for the first time, I’ll be taking DS(13) out of school for 3 days at the end of the term.

How should I word telling him that? I’m certainly not asking his permission, but he might be a bit pissed and PA pull me on it, if I just “tell” him. Fair enough, i suppose.

How about "Going on holiday from x date to y date, school is OK with taking the time off."

(Assuming they are OK!)

Sorry, double post

I would send over a proposal for the whole of the summer holidays that's based on whatever informal agreement or court order is in place and ask for his feedback. You don't need to tell him about the time off school until that's sorted, but do you really need to take ds out of school? You ex would have the right to object. You need to have a strong argument for doing it. Would you mind if he was proposing to take him out of school for 3 days at the end of the holiday?

Thanks Frasier. That’s good, although I haven’t checked with the school! I’m in Scotland and they’re not so strict here, so I probably would have booked then told them A few of DS friends regularly take up to two weeks term time, so hopefully this will be fine.

Mum, I’d actually be happy for him to that as it would mean he was actually taking DS on holiday with him for a change. Last year we worked the holidays that I took a week and then two days each week, and he took a week and one day each other week,
