Why would anyone do this to their own business?

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/chef-receives-death-threats-after-11784896

Her restaurant rating has been dragged down to 1.1 on Trip Advisor after she boasted on Facebook that she had "spiked" a vegan customer with meat and then followed it up by calling someone a cunt. Why the self sabotage? Fool.

When I saw the story i wondered what she thought she would gain from saying that. I feel sorry for her business partner.

Idontevencareanymore · 02/01/2018 15:01

Oh she's not claimed she was hacked? Shame really.

Although it took me a while to work out what the point of saying they'd ordered a cheese pizza....... maybe they got vegan and vegetarian confused as well.

LizzieSiddal · 02/01/2018 15:03

Not only is she dispicable for spiking someone’s food, but she also boasted about it.

I wonder if drink was involved or if she’s just a nasty, thick fool?

Is it that they ordered a Margherita pizza with mozzarella on? Therefore not vegan and why she saying what she did?

NoFucksImAQueen · 02/01/2018 23:14

Just seen this. It was as I thought. I wish people would get the full story before they destroy people's lives

I don't know. Article in Metro made ref to a facebook post whereby the chef claimed to have "spiked a vegan a few hours ago". Are you saying this is not the case, NoF?

MillennialFalcon · 02/01/2018 23:39

The pizza thing wouldn't explain her saying that she "spiked" someone's food, which suggests a hidden ingredient. She also said the person went to bed believing they were still vegan, so they didn't knowingly consume animal products.

Viviennemary · 02/01/2018 23:42

Apparently she was drunk. And she's really sorry. I bet she is. Idiot. She shows such contempt for her customers who would really want to patronise the place. Shame for the other staff though if they lose their jobs because of her.

ReanimatedSGB · 02/01/2018 23:47

I'm totally on her side. Sounds like she did nothing to anyone's food (the self-styled vegans ordered cheese of their own volition) and was exasperated at having to deal with self-righteous, ignorant twats all day (there are an awful lot of 'vegans' who haven't got a fucking clue what the word means... there was a thread about someone's work colleague who claims to be vegan but is always stuffing pork pies and bacon sandwiches down her neck.) But all the keyboard warriors had to get in on the act. I would love to see people stand up to morons more often and tell them to fuck off rather than caving in and apologising.

NoFucksImAQueen · 03/01/2018 00:02

I read it as "spiked their food" as in gave them non vegan even though they asked for it. Poor choice of words I agree.
I don't know, maybe she did, maybe she didn't but I can see why she was pissed if they made a big fuss about being vegan and then ordered cheese.
It said she'd spent hours sorting a special menu for them as well and and having working in hell hospitality maybe that's making me sympathetic

MissionItsPossible · 03/01/2018 00:14

I don't feel sorry for her as she didn't explain herself properly and then when confronted, continued to hint that she spiked the food - her words not anyone else's and everyone knows what context spiked should mean in that scenario. Then called a customer a cunt!!

She later appeared to confirm that she had "spiked a vegan a few hours ago", during several posts in the early hours of Saturday morning.

She would have a point if all she meant about the customer thinking she was still a vegan if the customer was too thick to realise cheese is not vegan.

"Spiked" sounds more deliberate"

Even if it were just a case of a stupid customer it is beyond idiotic to post what she did.

SandSnakeofDorne · 03/01/2018 00:22

Spiking isn’t giving people food they asked for though. It’s adding a hidden ingredient. And she said she did it, in writing. Why pretend otherwise?
