To send my kid to nursery with this?

Posting for traffic really but not sure what to do for the bed. DD has these spots on her tummy, I'm not sure if it's chicken pox or not and if I should send her into nursery tomorrow or not.

If cp you will know by tomorrow.

RavingRoo · 01/01/2018 17:52

If in doubt don’t send

RB68 · 01/01/2018 17:54

If she hasn't had CP I would say possibly it is - but as above you will know by tomorrow as it appears quickly once it starts - I wouldn't send in to be honest

Unfair to send in to nursery. May be something else that is contagious anyway. I'd want to be there for my DD if they're unwell.

If any of the kids have immune compromised parents or siblings and they get CP. they could die. So yes YWBU to send them.

Sorry posted too soon. They came up yesterday and she has no other spots but NHS says you can just have a few.

She is not unwell at all.

I wouldn’t send her just in case.
I had chicken pox when I was 16 and I had about 6 spots.
I passed it onto my brother and he was covered and was very ill.
Better to be safe than sorry

Timeforanamochango · 01/01/2018 18:05

If that’s all she has and they came up yesterday I don’t think it’s CP, it doesn’t look it to me at least - is she itching?
If she’s not bothered by it and not unwell it could just be a piece of clothing has irritated her or heat rash or similar. If it was my child and she was fine except for that I would still send and go to work.

Mine has had CP before though and there was no mistaking it, she screamed and didn’t sleep for 4 days and was covered head to toe!

Ok sounds like people think don't send so I'll keep her home and take some annual leave. Thanks

My DS has 1 spot like that and was sent home by nursery. I took him to drs who agreed it probably was CP. 3 days later, still no spots, went back to drs as nursery wouldn’t let him back without a drs note! I took a full week off work for it. Then 2 months later he actually got chicken pox. Work didn’t believe me and I lost my job soon after.

You’ll knownin the morning as the spots do come out really quickly when they’ve caught it.

Pharmacists will be able to tell you so maybe go first thing then decide from there?

buckyou · 01/01/2018 18:20

Oh no dailymail that sucks.

That's good to know about the pharmacist thank you.
