Hello Everyone!
im sorry, its not an AIBU, but this is where I always post, and im hoping traffic may help me here.
Im having an operation this year, Ive put it off for years, but ive made plans to have bariatric surgery.
Ive been asked to get a letter from my Drs just confirming that i would mentally be able to deal with the operation. They seem very reputable, ive found a lot of reviews, the surgeon seems quite highly regarded.
I dont know what to say to my drs, or ask for, because I get shut down as soon as I mention i dont intend to have surgery in this country. I can well understand why an NHS GP is worried about saying its ok for me to go out of the country for an operation, because if it goes wrong theyre stuck dealing with the problem, but ive tried and tried. i think the only way i will have success is if the amount I can eat is largely removed.
and its getting to the point where im sure i will be on medication for the rest of my life if I dont do this, the amount is just going to increase and increase. there are a lot of reviews from british people who have travelled over and had this same surgery, all seem very happy with their surgery and their results.
Has anyone had any luck getting their Dr to sign off on this type of surgery?
Would also love to hear from people who may have used Newleaf WLS, they seem really good.
