Have they watched Shrek yet? That's a good introduction. :)

SD1978 · 01/01/2018 03:25

Ooh- have you seen sunshine on Leith? Bloody brilliant play (now movie) my 5 yr old is now an expert on obscure Proclaimers songs as well as ‘the classics’

maras2 · 01/01/2018 04:19

Dh and me were given an Amazon Alexa thingy for Christmas by one of our adult children.
We had such a good Proclaimers session yesterday ie Bathgate no more Locharber no more etc that after the 2nd or 8th time Alexa yelled 'OK.NO MORE OF THAT SHIT I'M ON STRIKE.

DO IT

ForalltheSaints · 01/01/2018 09:29

Not the awful film please, but the album Sunshine on Leith as a start.

If you can find it, there are videos of Hibs supporters singing it at a cup final.

LightDrizzle · 01/01/2018 09:33

YANBU!

weebarra · 01/01/2018 09:34

Play and film were awful, but the band themselves are good. DH is a Hibee so there's a lot of Sunshine on Leith in our house, especially during May 2016.
My absolute favourite is Joyful Kilmarnock Blues.

HLBug · 01/01/2018 09:36

YADNBU!! And the film is awesome 😎

SD1978 · 01/01/2018 09:39

I can’t believe there are detractors to the film!!!! My 5 year old will be devestated! Although hearing her belt out about losing her virginity in over and done with has caused a few raised eyebrows........😳

Anymajordude · 01/01/2018 09:39

Sunshine on Leith was playing during ds's birth by c section so you could say we started early. We'll see if he grows up to support Hibs.

CountessofGrantham · 01/01/2018 09:39

I’ve done the Proclaimers thing this very morn as DD1 (9) was watching Shrek. Step one complete!

RustyBear · 01/01/2018 09:41

If they are Doctor Who fans, you can start the process with this one...

MrsMoastyToasty · 01/01/2018 09:42

As a mixed Anglo-Scottish family with a 500 mile drive to visit family then The Proclaimers is required listening in the car. (I specialise in the doodle doodle refrain on 500 miles)

Christinayangstwistedsista · 01/01/2018 09:46

Gulp....you mean you haven't yet????? What kind of mother are you? I'm phono h social work

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 01/01/2018 09:54

Ah, dh went and bought a best of album especially for the Scottish road trip. Good times.

CheeseGirl4 · 01/01/2018 10:12

Just had to play some Proclaimers!

blueskyinmarch · 01/01/2018 10:15

How old are the? You may be a bit late in starting. It has to be done from birth. But then i am a Fifer and the Proclaimers are part of my birthright! My DDs (now adult) love them and DD1 is very proud of the fact she has been to see them live. Great songs.
