Fruit in alcohol - uses?

Corneliusmurphy · 31/12/2017 09:54

I picked up a couple of jars of fruit in alcohol basically because they had been reduced and they sounded awesome but I have no idea what to do with them! It would be wrong to just eat them with a spoon wouldn't it? or would it

One is blackberries in gin and the other is cherries in kirsch, the only sensible thought I've had is adding to prosecco. Any thoughts?

I'd be thinking of making a badass cheesecake and using them as the topping

Cherries in kirsch I do just eat with a spoon

But go well over thick creamy plain yoghurt as well for a grown up supper

You can absolutely just eat them with a spoon.

But for cherries in Kirsch I would use as a base for a Black Forest gateux themed trifle...

Have with some total yoghurt for breakfast

They are very nice with ice cream
I have mine with meringue and creme fraiche
Would be lovely with pancakes too

Pavlova or crumble here!

Eat them as a pudding either on their own or as part of a trifle or variation on Eton Mess or to top a pavlova.
