To not understand cot/duvet sizes? Help?

I bought a standard 120x60cm cot today. So I am now trailing the Internet for bedding, but I am struggling to understand what size of duvet I need.

Some websites are selling 110x125cm duvets but that won't fit, will it?

Other websites are saying I need a 120x90cm duvet. Someone please help. My head has turned to mush Confused

What age is your child? Duvets are for children over the age of 1

Baby isn't even born yet, I know they are for over the age of one. But I want to know what duvet size to buy when I need it

And if your child is 1 then a cotbed duvet would probably fit best

dementedpixie · 30/12/2017 20:37

Why buy it now then?

I didn't even use a duvet at age 1 as mine wore a baby sleeping bag instead until age 2 and a half

Standard toddler bedding would probably do once the child is old enough. I'm still using a sleeping bag for my 17mo though as is can't be kicked off and stops him climbing out of his cot Grin

I wouldn't buy a duvet for a baby at all. Sleeping bags are much better, they're really wiggly when they're little, and by the time they stay still enough in their sleep for a duvet, they're big enough for a bed rather than cot.

I would wait a while just something to store.

My ds has a cot bed. His duvet was the standard toddler duvet and pillow from asda. Same cot for DD toddler duvet and pillow from argos. as long as it is 'toddler' not 'single'

I think the duvet he has would also work in a smaller cot as it is a bit big when the bars are on anyway. I hang it over the cot end during the day and it's not too big when he uses it.

Thank you, I think I'm just going to leave it until the time comes, and stick with the sleeping bag

Once your toddler is in a bed it will either be a toddler bed (be it cot bed or stand alone toddler bed) or a single. The duvets come in either toddler bed or single. This will be the size to look for when the time comes.
