My six month old is just over a chest infection. She finished a course of amoxicillin maybe two weeks ago and it cleared up.

She has had a cold the last few days but today is showing the exact same symptoms of the previous chest infection i.e. Same cough. Not eating much. Mild temperature. Not sleeping. So I'm pretty certain it's back again.

She is happy enough in herself although tired. I know to watch for dehydration etc. Problem is that the gp isn't open again till Wednesday which is quite a long time to wait if she does need another antibiotic.

Should I get her an out of hours appointment? Husband thinks it's not urgent enough.

Call they'll soon tell you if it's something to worry about or not. Chest infections can linger so play it safe.
