To worry about taking too much ibuprofen...

In my poorly haze I took one of my max strength ibuprofen and 2 normal ones thinking they were paracetamol.

Aibu to even question if that’s enough to cause a problem?

Yes YABU. It’s four tablets. Don’t take anymore.

My doctor is fine with me taking four as a one off if I have a migraine.

It won't kill you. But I wouldn't do it again anytime soon.

Taking too many can irritate your stomach as I know from experience - I used to overdose on them routinely when I had endometriosis, but the pain was so bad that I was prepared to tolerate the upset stomach the next day. I'd take up to 8 200mg tablets at a time . I would suggest avoiding them altogether for at least a few days, and drinking lots of water.

I would make sure you've got plenty food in your belly because ibuprofen irritates at the best of times, a double dose as a one of won't harm you, but you might get griping pain.
