My Dd6months loves white noise if am honest I think shes a little addicted. Within seconds of it being on if shes unsettled shes asleep and has an all round better sleep with it.

She sleeps ok I suppose well 6.30pm until 5am or even 7am with white noise on after the first wake. This is not very often i get a night like that though. I am up putting in dummies and bum tapping alot lately.

But shes 6months now is she too old? Am I making a rod for my own back? I am not thinking of getting it to get her to sleep longer or anything I know I am very lucky with her sleep my DS2 disnt sleep through for a long time.

She just seems to settle better with the noise and more content.

AIBU?

Our three year old still has Ewan and loves it. She slept through the night since 5 weeks old with Ewan and although she doesn't use him each night she likes playing with him and making sure he's comfy.

Even though it can be used as a soothing device it is really a cuddly toy that has sounds and a soothing light.

Ps - I still have my glowworm from a childhood - no shame here lol

I think I need to bite the bullet and order one! Might use some boots points £30 on a teddy seems extortionate. Shock

Don't knock it! Whatever works, works!

DS is 5 months and definitely benefits from his white noise toy, the owl. It has a sensor so it comes back on if he cries and you can see him settle down.

I just got one for my 7 month old for Christmas and we love it! I think it does help him (and me) sleep better.

BumWad · 29/12/2017 21:56

Definitely not too old we introduced it around 7-8 months it worked a treat

jaseyraex · 29/12/2017 21:58

Definitely not too old. We used one, well a cheaper version, from when my son was 3 months old until he was around 1 and a half. The batteries died in it and I had none spare so we just went without and he was fine. They're wonderful things, I'd definitely get one!

Whatsthekey1 · 29/12/2017 21:59

My 22 month old DS loves his and still uses it every night. Have just introduced it into 6 month old DS routine. IMO it is a good bedtime cue when they are older and we find it really useful when away from home as it keeps the familiarity of the routine.

Another ewan fan here! Altho we also use the BT lights and sounds monitor. Its basically continual white noise (can chose from a variety) and it's worked very well for us.

Goldfingers · 29/12/2017 22:27

Consider a my hummy too as it turns itself back on when there is movement or noise. The head only one isnt much dearer than ewan.
