Disgusting pavements.

After having walked through my local high street today,I am becoming increasingly annoyed at the state of it. Apart from the usual litter,I find lately that I'm having to dodge dollops of mucus,spit,vomit and dog crap. The council never seem to clean the pavements. I hear that in places such as Paris ,a pavement sweeper/washer thing goes round regularly in the early hours of the morning. Does anyone else get pissed off with the state of the pavements where they live? Or am I just being fussy? I dread to think what it's going to be like after NYE.

Yes!!! Specifically someone with a large dog which leaves large dog mess frequently under the bridge and all the kids going to and from the school down the road tread in and then all over the pavement.
I want them to install cameras to identify those who do it and fine them!!!

YANBU, the pavements in my town are getting worse and worse. I remember council workers maintaining the paths in residential areas too, now they all have weeds growing out of them and the verges look an absolute state. I live in a fairly affluent part of town too, yet it looks so run down now.

Not all pavements in Paris are like that though, just the touristy ones.

Much the same as London and other touristy areas.

In my town, they have on the spot fines for people dropping cigarette butts, which is all very well but the bins are always overflowing and there is litter strewn everywhere. They are also bogging with spit etc.

I now live in what is considered quite an affluent area, it’s always pretty clean, odd dog poop, no spit thank god but still the occasional pile of vom. I grew up in Croydon in the 80’s and the walk to school on a Monday morning was horrific, we had to walk through the main high street and through the market to school dodging sick, blood, glass, rotten veg left from Saturdays market, sacks of rubbish from smelly takeaways, it was disgusting. I think it very much depends on the area!

Dog owner here, I’ve noticed there is more dog crap in winter and I reckon I’ve worked out that it’s the lazy, spineless twats who only pick up if they can be seen; the short daylight hours make for dark evening walks and turning a blind eye to their shitting dogs. It infuriates me.

I hate the dog owners more than I hate the dogs. The pavements round where I live are truly disgusting. Shit smeared and spread all over the place, kids walking to school, stepping in it then straight into the classrooms!! I live next to a church (i.e could lean over and touch it) I'm not even remotely religious but always show respect if I walk through the grounds (short cut) dog owners use the church grounds morning and night time. Six are regulars dawn & dusk with a few that only come every so often. The church is beautiful, and does loads of weddings, funerals, playgroups, coffee mornings etc etc
The dog owners are totally brazen, even when the vicar is clearly inside the church they allow their dogs to shit everywhere! The Vicar has put new gates up along with signs stating NO Dogs, not made one iota of difference. The War memorial has constant piss stains as do the church steps. Ive seen several brides and bridesmaids scraping their shoes in the long grass near the borders!!
I did actually once ask a dog walker if he'd seen the bloody signs, told me to Fuck Off. I cleared the wall in seconds but the Vicar appeared so backed off!!
If I was more tech savvy I'd video them and upload to youtube!
