To be put off flights because 911 keeps coming up?

So just organising flights to USA at the minute for holiday in may.

The price keeps coming upto £911. Then the hotel price also came upto £911. I know it's ridiculous but AIBU to be a bit freaked by it and pay over the odds so that it doesn't land on this number everytime??

Should also add that I'm a nervous flyer at the best of times.

Last time I went to America I took diazepam in the airport. I had a funny reaction to it where my heart started racing and I felt like I couldn't breathe properly so I dare not even take that now.

It would be very stupid but a fool and their money are easily parted.

Rather than paying over the odds for the plane surely you’d be better off channeling that money towards CBT or something?

maddiemookins16mum · 27/12/2017 10:05

Really? That's a very odd figure for a travel reservations system to come out with.

needmymouthsewnup · 27/12/2017 10:07

What would you do if, once you-re in the US, you need emergency help? Will you refuse to dial 911?

araiwa · 27/12/2017 10:08

I too get freaked out by reminders of poor 90s boy bands

Unhomme · 27/12/2017 10:10

Maybe you're destined to win a Porsche 911?

ItsLikeRainOnYourWeddingDay · 27/12/2017 10:11

I would put the money into therapy OP. Not a holiday. As another person said. Would you refuse to call 911 in an emergency?
Looks like you are finding reasons not to go.

I thought you were staying at at Trump hotel for £500 and couldn’t afford to pay the previous hotel you visited in Vietnam? Some weird posts lately Hmm

bruffin · 27/12/2017 10:26

9/11 is my birthday, im doomed.
Started back from US on 9/10 and landed 9/11 nothing happened except a nice free glass of champage for my birthday

Sparklesocks · 27/12/2017 10:50

I think it’s an overreaction, it’s just a number after all.
I hope you’ve settled the balance for your previous holiday OP?

AJPTaylor · 27/12/2017 11:01

Wait 5 mins or log in from a different ip address and the price will change.

Sanshin · 27/12/2017 11:05

Hula, we decided against the Trump hotel and have decided on Bellagio - I'll give you the dates so you can check the authenticity of what I'm saying if you like Hmm

If you're in the U.K it would be 11/9 anyway!

Seriously, you know this is daft, don't you?!

Sanshin · 27/12/2017 11:10

I do know it's daft but as I'm anxious about flying anyway this is just another reason for me to think I'm right to be anxious! As daft as it sounds ...

FrostyThirties0 · 27/12/2017 11:12

Anxious people (me included) will always find something to be anxious about, why not just accept this is yours for now?

00100001 · 27/12/2017 11:13

Glue

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/12/2017 11:43

I hate to add to your fears, but I'd be the same. I'm very superstitious especially when it comes to numbers.
Sorry not helpful.

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 27/12/2017 11:45

Try clearing your cache and reprice?

juliesaway · 27/12/2017 11:55

Years ago I decided my lucky number was going to be 13. I therefore don’t have any unlucky numbers, and I always chill when I’m offered seat 13 on flight 1313 , etc . Used to be a nervous wreck before I took control of it . It stops a lot of anxiety.

DenPerry · 27/12/2017 12:08

You've watched too much Final Destination..

Rebeccaslicker · 27/12/2017 12:21

The first step is knowing it's daft. The next step is working out whether you get help to control it, or let it control you.

I am the same with spiders. Totally irrationally stupidly frightened of them. This year's resolution is to do the "friendly spider" programme!

What a ridiculous thread
