To have another Christmas Day today?

I've had the horrendous flu which has been going around.

The last thing I clearly remember is peeling potatoes on Christmas Eve. I've been out of it until today. DH was in two minds whether to call an ambulance. (I have asthma too, and was apparantly wheezing a lot)

I have a pile of gifts to open. A fuckload of food in the fridge (the DC have been a little off, although they bounced back before I did)

WIBU to treat today as The Big Day, wish you all a Merry Christmas, and crack on with the festivities?

Bizzarely, I apparantly managed to post my usual "he's beeeeen!" on facebook, at about 4am on Christmas morning!

Just do whatever you like.

You are harming no-one so no need to even consider what others might think.

Have a great day

NavyGold · 27/12/2017 08:31

Do it!

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 27/12/2017 08:32

Glad your feeling better but why ask Mn?

Most have taken their trees down by midnight on Christmas Day as according to them, Christmas is so oveeeeer.

Enjoy op Xmas Smile

Given that it’s only the 3rd day of our wonderful 12 days of Christmas, feel free to have another Christmas Day today! Just hope you still have your decorations and tree up unlike some on here who couldn’t wait to tear theirs down on Christmas Day! Enjoy it !!

bigchris · 27/12/2017 08:39

Aw sounds lovely, merry Xmas op Xmas Smile

SmileAndNod · 27/12/2017 08:41

MichaelFabricantsHair · 27/12/2017 08:46

Merry Christmas! Go for it, hope you have a lovely day celebrating Xmas Smile

We always have our Christmas dinner on Boxing day, but this year I was struck down with a stomach bug, so yesterday DH plated my meal up and covered it in tinfoil so I could hopefully eat it today. He went to put it in the fridge half an hour later but the the cat had tore off the tinfoil and made off with my turkey and every single roast potato, the bastard Xmas Grin

drspouse · 27/12/2017 08:48

Radley yes but that reminds me I need to take my antibiotics!
Our tree also stays up till the 6th and the Three Kings do a tour of the dining room before getting to the stable.

Pythonesque · 27/12/2017 08:49

Merry Christmas! Sounds ideal - unless leaving it one more day till tomorrow will mean you are more up for it!

We had 3 years doing Christmas over 2 days - cathedral services and communal cold lunch in between, presents at home in the evening, then "proper" Christmas dinner (and any presents we hadn't opened yet) on Boxing Day. Making the dinner then was so much more relaxed!

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 27/12/2017 08:53

Michael the cat got into the fridge?

My cats are bastards, too. In general, but worse at the moment: they've just discovered Outside, after seven years of being house cats. So they yowl at the back door to be let out. Five minutes later, they're yowling to come in again. Rinse and repeat.

And they hide on shelves and in boxes, lying in wait until someone walks past, then jumping out. Twats.

Go for it! A few years ago my dad was seriously ill in hospital over Christmas - we had our "Christmas Day" (complete with crackers, tree and all the trimmings) in the middle of January!

MichaelFabricantsHair · 27/12/2017 09:02

No he got up on the worktop, the rotten shit! Grin

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 27/12/2017 09:20

Bastard! Mine was sniffing the pot of mulled cider the other day!

BuzzKillington · 27/12/2017 09:22

We treat every day between Christmas and New Year as an excuse for festivities 🎄🍾

MichaelFabricantsHair · 27/12/2017 09:25

Who knew cats were partial to mulled cider and roast potatoes? Xmas Grin

MrsExpo · 27/12/2017 09:29

Get cooking and enjoying your presents ...have a lovely day. Merry Christmas ... Smile

lynmilne65 · 27/12/2017 16:59

Ha Ha Michael, my cats ate 6 sausages!!!

2017SoFarSoGood · 27/12/2017 17:11

Radley go for it. Have a wonderful Christmas Day today!

Cats. Ours discovered honey on (the other) Christmas morning. Wow. That cat was in heaven. Licked my fingers and DH's jeans where he apparently dripped a bit.

MichaelFabricantsHair · 27/12/2017 18:36

All these greedy cats Grin

TruJay · 27/12/2017 18:43

Go for it! We've had our Christmas dinner today as dc had horrendous d&v Xmas eve and day, I'm scarred from the experience!

lynmilne65 · 27/12/2017 18:53

We have been having 'Unchristmas ' day for years owing to varying shifts worked by family.
