To enjoy working Boxing Day

Kids are miserable and tired after staying up last night. And terribly moody.

I've worked 8-5. Time and a half. Hasn't even been that busy, just been serving coffee and talking to customers about their Christmas. Smile

I've earned some money which I will then spend on MYSELF for once and a day at home would have been much worse! Especially as things are quite shit in my family situation right now

Do AIBU to have enjoyed working today and to think not everyone hated working Boxing Day?

Besides I got paid 50% more

I'm working Boxing Day while looking after three children and not getting paid anything extra. I'm not really enjoying it...

But in your situation YADNBU - enjoy it :-)

You are not unreasonable. A bit of extra money and a pleasant day at work . Good for you OP!

I got double time today and it was actually bearable for once. It was quieter than usual and most people seemed pretty cheerful. I worked 10-5 and earned about £130 so not too shabby for retail Smile

When I was cabin crew I had to work Boxing Day - 06:00 report time! But I had a night-stop in Prague to look forward to Smile
