BastardGoDarkly · 26/12/2017 11:50

Ah, bless her, that's really lovely Smile

annielouisa · 26/12/2017 11:50

How nice to hear a lovely MIL story :)

apricotfrube · 26/12/2017 11:51

I see a lot of negative threads about MIL's on MN (I know so are absolutely awful!) so thought I'd share my present from my lovely one!

How dare she suggest you look in need of a holiday/presume you'd enjoy a cruise/assume she has a right to look after your children.........
Grin That sounds fantastic, OP- where are you going?

Curlyshabtree · 26/12/2017 11:55

Made me smile. Lovely gift, enjoy!

apricotfrube · 26/12/2017 11:55

@BertrandRussell I know- I don't know who she thinks she is Wink We are going to Belgium on the Oceana with P&O. I'm so excited- I've never been in a cruise before

Wow. That's amazing. What a fantastic present. Have a lovely time.

WorraLiberty · 26/12/2017 11:59

Unless your DC are over the age of 35, how dare you 'dump them' on your MIL like this.

On the other hand, she obviously thinks you're both terrible parents and the kids need a break from you both.

She is your MIL and is therefore guilty of passive aggressive cruise booking.

Leave all the bastards, as they sound toxic.

Merry Christmas Xmas Grin

Mummaofboys · 26/12/2017 12:15

Aww your so lucky! I’d be happy with a lie in! What a lovely gift!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 26/12/2017 12:15

She is obviously manipulating you because she wants another grandchild. This is the best way to ensure you have lots of sex (it's what I would do if I were on a childfree holiday Blush ).

She sounds lovely. My Mum did this for us when DS was little and she and DS both had a great time without us.

LuckyAmy1986 · 26/12/2017 12:19

I am jealous! How lovely :)

Mummyoflittledragon · 26/12/2017 12:20

Lucky you!!

BrevilleTron · 26/12/2017 12:23

That's lovely! My DP's lovely DM bought us National Trust membership. It's an epic present and DP and I will get a lot of of it.
She's ace.

Mountainpika · 26/12/2017 12:29

Mothers in law are lovely in my experience. I've had two (one husband) and both were real darlings. Hope my Daughters in law think the same of me.
As with everything else, people tend to focus on the negative, so
it's good to hear positive stories.

MagentaRose72 · 26/12/2017 12:35

Awesome!

deadringer · 26/12/2017 13:09

3 days! What a selfish bitch she should have booked you in for at least a week! You should go nc. when you come back

etap · 26/12/2017 13:11

Oooh lovely! I used to work for P&O Cruises... be sure to enjoy every moment of it enjoy everything free and relaaaaaaaaaaaaax

Taylor22 · 26/12/2017 14:28

That is amazing!

Have an awesome holiday.

Tinselistacky · 26/12/2017 14:29

Sounds like she has realised you are in charge of the care home selection process...

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 26/12/2017 14:55

She sounds fab. I've always had nice presents from the mothers of people I've dated- and they've all been lovely ladies. DPs mum did so well, I got a beautiful nail varnish set and really nice perfume. Love that woman Xmas Smile

skippykips · 26/12/2017 16:54

YABVU! How dare you brag! 😂
My MIl has been NC for 2 years!
I am jealous that you have a nice one! So no, u should not have this cruise. I will PM my address so you can send tickets to me! Your MIL can look after my DDs! Its fine!

In all seriousness, what a lovely present! Smile

Tistheseason17 · 26/12/2017 16:56

Christmascardqueen · 26/12/2017 17:02
