To return a gift to shop for something else?

My husband bought me a joules bathrobe. But I don’t like bathrobes- have never worn one or wanted one.

Do I just keep it hung up in my wardrobe or do a sneaky exchange and hope he doesn’t notice?

Change it. Tell him you’ve swapped it. Tell him how pleased you are with your new jumper or whatever. I treat clothes with a receipt as a wrappable gift voucher.

Exchange. Tell him he was a darling to buy something so lovely though.
