Mainly in the telegraph recently?

Some such drivel about a campaign to stop referring to rape victims as victims and call them complainants

It is annoying me lots.

It's a tough one, it's the same reason that people are innocent until proven guilty because people lie.

I can see why they think it's a good idea but sadly it'll effect those women who are victims coming forward because of another area to have to prove.

Fucking ridiculous. They know full well that false rape allegations are extremely rare and no more common than for any other crime. Are we going to have "mugging complainants" and "GBH complainants" next? Of course not.

I have a relative who is constantly going on about this as if it’s a serious issue because an allegation that doesn’t result in conviction certainly means lying woman.
I’ve taken to leaving every single time she does it.

I think it is to undermine the momentum gained by the MeToo campaign and the exposing of other scandals (Weinstein, Westminster etc). Any whiff of women being empowered in any way and there will always be a concerted effort to get them back in their box and maintain the status quo. It is also why the recent LA case is being reported far more widely and vigorously then any actual rape ever is.
