About running commentary during Disney on ice

Dad sat behind us with two kids. I think they were about 3 and 5. He was so irritating EVERY time someone jumped, span or did a lift he exclaimed "WOW! Did you see that?" In a nauseating baby voice.

He kept on saying to his children "did you see that? WOW!!!" Er yes they probably did seeing as it was right in front of their face with fireworks going off and lighting effects.

Whenever anything happened he was like ". OOOHHH YEAH YHE GOOD GUYS ARE BACK"

"MICKEY MOUSE DADDYS FAVOURITE!"

it didn't ruin the show for me coz tbh didn't really want to watch it we were taking our child who was mesmerised and really enjoyed it. Me and my dp kept laughing every time he did this "WOW!" In his stupid fake baby voice. And he also gave a run down about what was happening as it was happening. I felt like turning round and asking him if he has lost his mummy in the internal he sounded like a toddler.

Why do people do this? Do they think everyone around them is going to be impressed with their great parenting? So weird. Also he was loudly telling someone his daughter was named sienna after sienna so he's obviously a prize cock end.

Some people love the sound of their own voice. I was at a show recently and the two women behind me kept up a running commentary of similar inane drivel to each other, it really pissed me off and I kept turning round and glaring until they stopped.

My 3 year old tells me off if I’m not overly enthusiastic about everything we do Grin

I would, and have asked people to please be quiet in similar circumstances (theatre, cinema)
