AIBU to have a Christmas whinge?

I will have it here and keep my chin up IRL. if that is ok with the nest of vipers

I am exhausted. I work in a retail position. When I was offered it, I was told that I would be kept on past Christmas. I was weighing offers, but as this was intended to be permanent, I chose this. Now, the manager is under constraints and my job may be over at the end of next week.

I have pneumonia, have been sick for 2 weeks, and was hospitalised for 2 days. My first day scheduled after I was discharged, I was back at work. Needs must, and all.

I am getting ready for Christmas, have to finish wrapping today, clean the kitchen, and get myself to the shops to fill the fridge (been working most days recently).

I cough all night, got about 4 hours' sleep last night (up and couldn't sleep anymore by 5), and will have to drive 2 hours in a snow storm to get to family tomorrow first thing in the morning. And, to top it off, the medication I am taking to try and ease the symptoms of this infection are just not cutting it (steroids, 3 inhalers and antibiotics).

And... I have no voice from the coughing, so even if I wanted to lose my shit and tell the family to go pound salt, all I would do is squeak. Confused

Thank you for the whinge... now I shall go scrub out the fridge and head to the shops. Thank goodness it is still before 8am here.

Have a Wine and a Gin.

Merry Christmas [santa]

Oh no! You poor thing. Could you leave the fridge/kitchen/shopping if you’re going to family? Any way you could stay there longer so they could look after you a bit til you feel better?

I'd love to leave it, but I work on Boxing Day Xmas Hmm

Fridge is done, kitchen is done enough... now to throw on some clothes and hit the shops.

On an interesting note, singing along to the esoteric mix of music currently playing from my phone (I have insanely varied tastes - goes from show tunes to hard rock) sounds kind of funky with my current level of hoarseness.

Forget Xmas, you need rest and looking after. It will catch you up. Surely no vipers here would say that you are unreasonable. I feel for you, hope you get better soon x
