To give this to dp as a Christmas pressie?

Sooo last night I had a few drinks, I’m a complete light weight and only drink at Christmas / New Year so have very little tolerance.

Anyway I may have accidentally booked a holiday after having one too many but didn’t tell dp, the only reason being that he wasn’t in the room - oops!

So would I be unreasonable to print out the confirmation today and give it to him as a Christmas pressie to get around the fact that I just booked it without asking him first?

Was a good deal though and he does love the place we’re going!

Have you paid for the whole thing?! If so yeah it's a present, if you're wanting your partner to contribute to the cost of it then no, it's not a present!

Iv come close to doing this so many times! Where you going?!

StickThatInYourPipe · 24/12/2017 11:23

Yeah I paid for it in full, was a good deal Rhodes for 1 week A/I.

We were having a party at my mums and me and my bf got a bit carried away on the easyJet website hahaha!

Do it !

I think this is really romantic and bet he will love it.

The best things can happen from the spur of the moment decisions ( even those made under the influence ).

If it’s all paid definitely give it as a present. It’s a fab present, I’d love it!

gunsandbanjos · 24/12/2017 11:26

Definitely do it, as long as you can afford it nothing wrong with it at all.

Omg that is brilliant! Grin I've been guilty of pissed ebaying but never bought a holiday! Yes give him it as a pressie, sounds like he'll be thrilled! If he sees the confirmation date just say you were hoping to find a bargain and were amazed to find a fabulous one at the last minute!

StickThatInYourPipe · 24/12/2017 11:28

Thanks guys, you are helping my ‘buyers remorse’ from the cold light of day hehe.

I will wrap up the confirmation (with price scribbled out) and pop under the tree!

DH and I agreed years ago to give each other 'holidays' as Xmas presents as we ran out of idea of what to get each other. He gets me a nice weekend away in a posh place in the UK and I take him abroad for one of the bank holidays. It works great, so yes, I think that's an excellent idea and he better think it's the best surprise ever (and might make it a habit to encourage you to get a few drinks just before Xmas!)

StickThatInYourPipe · 24/12/2017 11:32

Haha! Yeah he will be bringing the baileys home much earlier now if he thinks he’ll get a nice holiday every year!

I think that’s a great idea about presents swingofthings I might suggest that for next year. This year it’s just a bonus one! Wink
