To wonder what Princess Di would have Mumsnetted?

Eltonjohnssyrup · 23/12/2017 01:12

I may or may not be a bit shitfaced.

But the Princess Michael thread had me wondering. If Princess Di had Mumsnet what would she have posted?

Because apparently Princess Di and Princess Michael feuded because Princess Michael's cats used to come in through her windows at Kensington Palace and piss all over her apartment.

Sorry, but how much of an AIBU is that? My husband's mother's cousin's cat keeps coming in through my window and sprayimg piss on my Holbein tapestries.

And could you IMAGINE her on 'Relationships'? She'd give AnyFucker bloody apoplexy.

'I am a 19 year old giwho has just got married to a 33 year old DH. I found out he doesn't love me and he only married me because his DF said he had to. He's actually in love with his 35 year old slapper EXGF. What should I do?'

Mumsnet: LTB. HTH.

I think she would get Paul Burrell to do it and I think she'd scan replies for public opinion.

I bet she would troll about Camilla/Charles and Prince Philip.

PumpkinSquash · 23/12/2017 01:51

She'd apparently just turned 20.
Prince Charles was apparently into Camilla. On his wedding nigh and before. If so didn't give any shits about Diana and what she was feeling.
Wish AIBU was around back then if so, could have given her some proper anonymous support.

ScreamingValentaMySantaExpress · 23/12/2017 01:51

"My husband thinks he's a tampon - AIBU to be concerned?"

PumpkinSquash · 23/12/2017 01:53

"I feel there's three of us in this marriage. AIBU?"

Eltonjohnssyrup · 23/12/2017 01:55

Valenta Grin

Pumpkin, even worse. You know there was that whole thing when they were engaged and the papers reported that she had a 'tryst' with Charles on the royal train as a 'blonde' was spotted being spirited on?

Wasn't her. Was Camilla.

AIBU to find my MIL overbearing? S he expects me to curtesy to her and is determined my unborn child will take over the family business.

AIBU to feel a bit suspicious of my DH's friend Jimmy?

Sad Didn't know that if true.
So many things in the media that she (Diana) was totally laughed at and thought of as naive and took advantage of.
"Whatever love means?" with someone else in the background. Sad

notangelinajolie · 23/12/2017 02:02

She would so have been on Mumsnet. Advice from me ... LTB.

lizzy5175 · 23/12/2017 02:04

God knows! She'd have probably been all over it!
Charles should have just been allowed to marry Camilla in the first place and not had all of that ridiculous sacrificial virgin nonsense. Diana would have married an insignificant aristocrat from Northampton and that would have been that.

She was a naive child, thought she loved him, but he loved someone else and she was trapped, it was too late! That's enough to send anyone mad. Poor woman.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 23/12/2017 02:07

In a fight though. Camilla and Diana. Diana was bigger and fitter. But I reckon Camilla would fight dirty and use heavy objects and punch. Diana would scratch and bite though. My money would be on Diana. Camilla would put up a good fight though.

AIBU not to want to stay with the PILS at Christmas because they never put their heating on & their place is always freezing?

AIBU to think my SIL is a CF? I bought her a lovely cashmere scarf for Christmas & all she gave me was an ironing board cover?

AIBU to think that my MIL is over anxious & a tad dramatic? As every time me, DH & our 2 DSs go on holiday she demands/wails/cries that we should all travel separately in case the plane/boat/train crashes & we all die & there will be no one left to take over the family business.

AIBU to think my DH is jealous of me as all of his friends & family make a great big fuss of me & he sits sulking in the corner?

AIBU to think my DBoyfriend's Gran & my DGran are up to something? Every time we see them they're always giggling, drinking gin & champagne & muttering things like weddings, babies & tea towels? I've only been seeing my boyfriend for 6 weeks.

ScreamingValentaMySantaExpress · 23/12/2017 02:08

"BF's dad has just spent £8M on a yacht for me to holiday on with BF and our DC - AIBU to feel he is trying to hurry us into marriage?"

Eltonjohnssyrup · 23/12/2017 02:08

Camilla has stamina though.

That's just it. isn't it? Yes he should. Instead, no it's preferable to ruin lives instead. All in the name of proper and right and stoic. Confused
How about letting people marry because they want to marry? All for Kate and William and Harry And Meghan as it's not any of the older crap that just causes misery.

PumpkinSquash · 23/12/2017 02:11

Diana would have smacked her down. I hope

Eltonjohnssyrup · 23/12/2017 02:11

There was no 'allowed' about it. If he'd had principles and a backbone he could have married her. Edward VIII did.

OP posts:
Eltonjohnssyrup · 23/12/2017 02:14

Edward VIII didn't marry Camilla obviously. That would have been all kind of fucked up that even the Royal Family wouldn't try it.

OP posts:
lizzy5175 · 23/12/2017 02:16

@PumpkinSquash Without her it would probably still be the same way. Obviously times have changed so who really knows, but because of everything that happened in her marriage, William and Harry have been allowed to marry for love. She probably saved the monarchy!
Anyone watched the crown on Netflix? It's REALLY good!

lizzy5175 · 23/12/2017 02:18

Well that's it isn't it, he's just weak! Too much of a wimp to stand up to his granny.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 23/12/2017 02:20

Has anybody read Lady Colin Campbell's bullshit? Don't buy it new if it's still in print. But if you can get it second hand it's hilarious. It's such a pile of obviously made up crap and even more so with hindsight.

There is a book the housekeeper at Highgrove wrote which is still banned here but you can import. It's one of the saddest things I've ever read. Charles speeding away in his Jag to Camilla's spraying grit at Diana crying on the drive way.

I laugh. But the poor girl had a horrid time.

Exactly, I'm old enough to remember all this stuff first time round. from what I've read over the years Charles and Camilla made her life a misery.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 23/12/2017 02:55

That's the book. I remember it first time round too. I was really small the day she got married but remember it was glorious sunshine oop norf and I was running in and out from the garden looking at the pretty princess who looked just like the picture books.

I also remember when she died because I was coming home from a club with a massive filthy comedown and a cab driver told me. Worst comedown ever and not quite as picturesque as her wedding. Which is somewhat apt.
