To think this isn’t normal cinema behaviour?

Row of teenage boys sat behind me at the cinema, feeling the need to have a running commentary of stupid remarks throughout the movie. Then two of them had their feet up on seats either side of mine (so pretty close to my head) but had taken their shoes off. Who even takes their shoes off in the cinema anyway?

I did ask them to either put their feet down or put their shoes back on (the second one rather more sharply than the first), and to be fair, they did then put their feet down.

AIBU to not want strangers socked feet next to my head while the owners of the feet make stupid comments while I’m trying to watch a movie?

YANBU.

Proper ushers would be lovely.

No, that's just appalling manners and if my teenage DS did this I would expect him to have a telling off.

I love taking my shoes off in the cinema. Don't put them on the seats though.

I think it is normal for some teenagers. I work in a college and frequently have to ask the students to take their feet off the furniture.
YANBU for not wanting them to do it though.

I think I'd prefer socked feet as opposed to dirty shoes???

hungryradish · 22/12/2017 19:45

Gross.

One time, someone in the row behind sneezed on me. Twice.

A lot of them try to do this in lessons in school too. Shoes on though.
Some parents would be shocked by their son/daughters rudeness and lack of regard for others.
