Sorry probably posted in wrong thread only I am such a mess this morning I don't know which way to turn.
I hate Christmas with a passion as everything always seems to go wrong for me .
Lost both parents very close to Christmas ,last year had my house ransacked by burglars this year Ithought the worst would happen would be my DB not turning up as I refused to give him money as he a complete wastrel.
Last night my Ds was set upon by 3 males and severely beaten and we live in what is deemed to be a nice place.
To be just crying today need to do so much still as have all in law side coming for xmas dinner .
Sorry have said too much but don't know where to start.

Lolly I'm so sorry. How old is DS? How is he now?

Lolly49 · 22/12/2017 11:02

18 He is ok but his face is all black eyes and split lips
Definitely going to book a holiday next year even if I go on my own.

Oh Lolly I'm so sorry for you and your son, poor thing. How awful. There are some utter bastards around, aren't there? SadFlowers

BlueSkyBurningBright · 22/12/2017 11:09

So sorry to hear this. Similar happened to mine a couple of months ago. It is heartbreaking to think of your DS going through that. I know I would rather it had happened to me than my child.

In your place I would cancel everything today and spend the day looking after your son.

I also find Christmas hard for various reasons. I now keep it simple, and only do what I want. No big family lunches, or rushing around.

Do hope your son feels better soon. Be there for him to talk to, as the physical injuries will heal but the emotional trauma will take time.

Motoko · 22/12/2017 11:28

What a crap thing for you and your son to go through. One of my sons was assaulted when he was 16, by someone who he thought was a friend. This boy stamped on my son's head, and knocked some teeth out. It was awful, so I understand what you're going through.

Take each day as it comes, warn the in laws what has happened so they know that you might not be able to do everything you'd planned. Perhaps they can help with some of the preparations?

I hope your son has a speedy recovery and I hope it doesn't affect his outlook on life.

BlueSkyBurningBright · 22/12/2017 12:56

Yes, knives would have been worse. To give you hope, the police have caught my son's attackers. They have been arrested and charged. There is cctv everywhere and they can look at that and see what happened.
