To still have not put my decorations up?

I am looking at them now. They are sat in a box same as they were 2 weeks ago.

What's the point at this stage? Surely I shouldn't bother?

Yes YABU! And YABU for using the word sat!

Craftylittlething · 22/12/2017 00:36

Still plenty of time! I’ve put them up on Christmas Eve before, not a huge fan but my oh is so they go up a bit earlier now. It is nice to wake up to a decorated house on Christmas Day

KeepServingTheDrinks · 22/12/2017 00:36

If you don't have to have a username starting with the letter T, I'd say it's totally up to you.

Tessliketrees · 22/12/2017 00:37

Oldest DS is going to be home around 2am*.

My plan was to get them up when he came in.

But honestly there is only me and DH who spend time downstairs anyway.

Can't SOMEBODY tell me IABR so I can fuck it off guilt free?

*He's been on a day trip with family, not clubbing.

YANBU if you don't care. If your family care they can put them up. I haven't put any decorations up this year. We're not spending Christmas at home though so that's why (plus the destructive little kitten would pull them straight down).

x2boys · 22/12/2017 00:52

I put mine up today I always leave it late they will be up untill the 3
2nd or 3rd f January

Battleax · 22/12/2017 00:54

Still fifteen days of Christmas left.

x2boys · 22/12/2017 00:55

It's not Xmas yet! Imo Xmas starts late Xmas eve 😁

Tessliketrees · 22/12/2017 00:55

Am doing it now.

Heartened by those who also put up late, felt a bit like I missed my chance to be Christmassy.

Mine are going up tomorrow. I'm a bit late this year too.

x2boys · 22/12/2017 00:57

My neighbour put them up the day after my birthday which is November 17 !Ridiculous imoHmm

SausageChipsAndCurrySauce · 22/12/2017 00:58

My parents used to put the tree up on Christmas eve. We always had a real one so they left it as late as possible.

Paperdove87 · 22/12/2017 00:59

We only put ours up today. Normally they'd go up earlier but I've actually enjoyed being Xmas free for a bit longer...

Timetobookaholiday · 22/12/2017 01:00

I didn't put mine up last year as I thought it had got to late.
I put mine up on Tuesday...I this year...might be late..but I'm really glad I have...
Love the twinkle of the lights

esk1mo · 22/12/2017 01:03

i havent bothered this year Blush couldnt be bothered with the hassle of a real tree, plus would have to buy all new decorations as we moved.

its just me & dp, not sure wherr the gifts will go. might purchase a tiny tree

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 22/12/2017 01:03

We put ours up on the 2nd December. It was our only free weekend in December.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 22/12/2017 01:07

At home we've had them up since 1st December (don't ask, not my choice!) but I'm house sitting now till Christmas somewhere else and there is none up here, no tree, lights, nothing.

It honestly took me a whole day to notice Grin

I might get a poinsettia but that'll be it.

Onlyoldontheoutside · 22/12/2017 01:12

I prefer them up late,it is easier to feel Christmas story and ours don't come down until 12 night so the beginning of January doesn't feel so grim.

ReanimatedSGB · 22/12/2017 01:22

Our tree only went up tonight. I put the outside lights up last weekend but that was just because I need two or three days to work out whether they are on or off (solar powered with an annoying on/off button that doesn't indicate whether it's been pushed or not).

It used to be the case that it was incorrect/vulgar/blasphemous to put them up before Christmas Eve, anyway.

happymummy12345 · 22/12/2017 01:25

It's completely up to you. Ours always go up the beginning of December and come down January 6th.
I love Christmas though, it doesn't feel like Christmas til the tree is up.
But if it's not really your thing then it's not so important I don't suppose.

raisinsarenottheonlyfruit · 22/12/2017 01:32

YABU.

I haven't even bought the tree yet!

We're going to buy and decorate it tomorrow.

Tessliketrees · 22/12/2017 01:42

Trees up and decorated to my standard.

Decs tomorrow.

Thanks for the kick up the arse.
