To try and get a doctors appointment

I know its going to be really busy this close to Christmas. But I have been ill since Sunday and it is getting worse instead of better. Started with a cold and sore throat, but now both my throat and my ear really hurt but only on one side. I also have asthma and am worried about this getting worse over Christmas when no doctors are open. Aibu to try and get a doctors appointment today or should this just be for priorities?

I would try. Purely because it will be so much harder to see anyone if you get worse over the weekend. Your asthma makes youat more risk I think.

I think you should try. You’re vulnerable due to your asthma and it’s better to get checked out this week than try to seek emergency care over Christmas.

Definitely try and get to the Drs! & If your uvula (that bit of flesh that dangles at the back in the middle) shifts to one side seek help urgently! It could be quinsy which for me started in just the way you’re describing with severe sore throat on one side!

Thanks, I will try and get an appointment today then. I wasn't sure if I was just being silly about it but I do have history of things like this turning into infections quickly

Are you in the UK? If you are, I’m assuming it’s keeping you up? Not many of us up at this time of night! (I’m recovering from surgery and a bit sore!).

I didn't get much sleep but then I'm not s great sleeper anyway so it doesn't take much to keep me awake. Hope you managed to get some sleep!
