I've tried converting to word and it looks like shit. The formatting goes so far wrong I can't fix it.

It's been sent over to me this morning and I need to get it back this afternoon. Any ideas?

There's supposedly some free software you can download but how do I know what is legitimate or not, what is dodgy or full of spyware or bad stuff?

Convert to word, copy and paste as text only into a clean doc and start from scratch.

Someone must have the original source file, no?

Womble75 · 20/12/2017 12:38

I use pdfonline.com for this and have done on a few occasions now.

are you able to download something like PDF exchange viewer? I've used that a couple of times to edit and merge PDF files. might be worth googling.

RavingRoo · 20/12/2017 12:44

Why do you need to edit it? Ordinarily as pdf files are published, you would start again (or from the original Word source).

I have used the free version of PDFEscape. It's online, works fine.

It's a form I have to fill in and send back for an important reason.

My computer is new but very simple, but I'm a little scared of downloading some dodgy thing that wrecks it! I will look at some of these recommended links you all use though. Thanks Smile

This is also very good: smallpdf.com/

Myneighboursnorlax · 20/12/2017 12:56

Can you print it, fill it in by hand, then scan it back in and email it back?

4teensandababy · 20/12/2017 12:57

If you only need to add in a little of information, use the fill & sign option. It opens a little box over the page and you can type into it.

Seeline · 20/12/2017 13:00

If you are using Adobe to open the document, go to the 'tools' tab and open the 'sign and fill' option.
Go back to the document and click in the box where your answer should go, and it will allow you to type in the information.
Save the whole thing when you have finished and then you can attach the new document to an email and send back.
