Bought a Jack Wills toiletries bag for a 12 year old boy ... is that a really rubbish present?? Know my 11 year old DD got the girls version last year and liked it ... but now doubting my choice! Aaghhh

I think it's lovely and will make him feel like a young man.

Hisnamesblaine · 19/12/2017 21:37

If he's starting to look after himself I.e grooming........ and in to his appearance then he will love it!

GingerbreadMa · 19/12/2017 21:39

No sounds pretty standard for that age. Everyone I know with tween/teen boys seems to be buying jack wills stuff this year

I have no idea who jack wills is or what he does Grin i just know its "in" this year, will prob be naff next year tho so dont stock up in the sales!

VivienneEastwood · 19/12/2017 21:41

I've a 13 yo son and he would like that. It's a difficult age to buy for on a budget so I think he'll like it, esp if it comes with some deodorant!

MoistCantaloupe · 19/12/2017 21:42

Is it a bag with bits in, or the bag itself alone?
Makes no difference, I think it's still a lovely present - just generally interested!

Whiskeywithwater · 19/12/2017 22:19

Ah - thank you all for reassuring me Smile
It's a travel bag and has hair/body wash, body spray ... & what I was a bit worried about when I looked just before I wrapped, aftershave balm. But then my 8 yo DS likes to wear a splash of his Dad's aftershave, so maybe still ok?

I am informed by my teen ds that Jack Wills is on the desirable list this year. He got similar sounding kit for his birthday and is using it.

NotEnoughCushions · 19/12/2017 22:31

Great present. My DS received something similar last year and loved it - I did chuckle when he started putting on aftershave before he went to bed. 😊

MoistCantaloupe · 19/12/2017 22:33

Sounds great OP, he’ll love it!

Pumpkintopf · 19/12/2017 22:34

Good present op, should be well received.

WeAllHaveWings · 19/12/2017 22:39

My ds 13 has no idea who jack wills is, but I think it’s just not popular up here (scotland), but he does use and likes his adidas wash bag he got a couple of years ago. He uses for sleepovers regularly.

HermionesRightHook · 19/12/2017 22:40

I think that sounds nice! I think when you're 25 and none of your older relatives know you well enough to get you anything other than smellies it's a bit dull (though I have just done exactly that for my cousin, as at least I know it'll save him money buying it himself), but for a twelve year old it's very fashionable, and will make him feel like you're seeing him as a teenager/older person.

CheapSausagesAndSpam · 19/12/2017 22:46

It's a good pressie. He'll be happy with that.

StarWarsFanatic · 19/12/2017 22:58

Sounds good to me. Most of the blokes in my family started shaving around that age so I wouldn't give the aftershave balm a second thought. Even then I don't think it goes 'off' for ages, IYKWIM

neveradullmoment99 · 19/12/2017 23:01

Depends upon the child i think. If he is becoming more self conscious then go for it.

horatioisabrick · 19/12/2017 23:02

Sounds good to me :) I remember those kinds of presents... they made me feel ‘grownup’ (which I obviously loved).

Rafflesway · 19/12/2017 23:02

Brilliant gift IMO! Smile

AdoraBell · 19/12/2017 23:08

Unless he is allergic to soap like some people his age it will be a great gift 👍
