...Dh going out drinking but coming home and carrying on all night, creating untold disturbances, retrieving stashed cans of lager he stocked up on in advance of going out, getting up hourly after eventually passing out at 3-4am to raid fridge / go to loo. Assuming it's fine to spend most the next in bed while I care for 17 month ds. Only to repeat heavy drinking session the next night on his own with no social aspect as an excuse. Apparently I'm wrong to be pissed off, as it hasn't happened for several weeks now...

Several weeks? Even once would have me questioning what is going on!

You know it's unreasonable in the extreme. You already know it's outrageous to behave like such a bellend. So what are your choices?

rOsie80 · 19/12/2017 17:11

I'm starting to question my judgement! I get such a shit time for being angry afterwards; DH does fuck all but nurse a hangover or drink for 48hours then returns to being a reasonable person in time for work on Monday then berates me for overreacting, calling me unreasonable. He won't even admit the problem

This is terrible. It is dangerous and disrespectful. Unless he changes this behaviour - and he may well not - this will be no environment in which to bring up a child.

If you can leave - I think I would - while your child is young and has not been damaged. (Imagine at 5 or 6 or 12 seeing his dad like that?)

I left my marriage for this kind of behaviour. It's selfish and unbearable to live with. I couldn't see an end to it and that scared me... my children and I are so much happier
