I need a main Xmas present for my 10 year old dd. She has lots of bits but not a main present. I don't know what to get and I'm off shopping today.

Any ideas that would go down well ? She has a phone..laptop etc.

Budget? Main interests?

user187656748 · 19/12/2017 07:49

Tricky when she already has phone and a laptop at 10 Shock. Would make me think she already has most other things too?

Poisongirl81 · 19/12/2017 07:49

About £50. She's no particular hobby really. 😊

Well she uses my laptop. She has a phone though it was her birthday last month and she got one then

She must have interests. She's 10.

What does she do when not at school?

Rossigigi · 19/12/2017 07:55

Pandora bracelet? Then you can add to it each Birthday and Christmas, a few friends done this for their daughters and they loved them

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 19/12/2017 07:56

Hmmm... difficult with no main interests.

Does she have a games console?

What shops are available?

Poisongirl81 · 19/12/2017 07:59

She has an old wii but doesn't play on it much. Pandora good idea!

I'm going to a city so lots of choice

when would she wear an expensive bracelet though? Presumably she wouldn't be allowed to wear it at school. At 10 it might end up sitting in a box.

fitbit type tracker watch? DS2 (10) is having a vivofit junior 2.

Experience Day?

AJPTaylor · 19/12/2017 08:06

One of those google speaker or amazon equivelent is all the rage this year. Dd10 is getting a food mixer gbbo fan, a hatcimal and clothes.

Littlelambpeep · 19/12/2017 08:08

A charm bracelet would be lovely. Something special she would have forever.

Otherwise - a nice overnight bag or something for her room

FlouncyDoves · 19/12/2017 08:22

Nothing? You’ve already bought her quite a bit by the sounds of it.

Isadora2007 · 19/12/2017 08:26

An echo dot.
A Thomas Sabo bracelet
A Fitbit.
A mini spa day with you

TheSnowFairy · 19/12/2017 08:29

DD 9 is getting spy books and pens (she absolutely loves Armchair Detectives), Lego, books, and other bits.

She does not have either a phone or computer though.

Nikephorus · 19/12/2017 08:49

Has she decided yet if she's gay or straight? That makes all the difference to gift choices apparently Grin

Oilybeans · 19/12/2017 08:57

Turbot would do if you can't get Brill. Grin

What about an animal experience at a zoo? Our local zoo does it - you can do it for a day or half a day, pick the animals you want to work with you and get to prepare their food, go behind the scenes and even feed some of them.

I did one recently where I hand-fed jaguars through a fence and it was amazing - and I'm in my twenties!

Young driver experience ?
