NC and yes I am BU for posting here but traffic.

I have no children. Friend's DD is 2 in Jan. Really taken a shine to her and gotten closer to the couple as friends. Very musical family (Dad is music teacher, both love out there music think psych rock, folk etc.)

Their DD is also very into music and aware of music (asks what's this whenever a new song comes on). Any ideas of cool gifts we can get her for xmas?

Help a childless grinch this xmas please Grin

Beat bugs toys 😁 Google them, you'll see why 😊

We loved our bath flutes, cheap and cheerful, but lots of fun

I would get her a djembe like this:

But I also think their scrapers are really beautiful and cute. Love this frog one:

TBH I'd just get her a pretty glass ornament. Or a book. She already has music all around her.

Hopefully it's something she'll be able to keep for life. My main xmas presents which I remember are a painting, crystal perfume bottle and book of poetry.

One of my friends gave me a set of silver bracelets from her family 20 years ago and I'm waiting til her sons are grown up and have OHs and I can pass them on to her and give them back. Of course if their sons are gay I wouldn't know quite what to do but the thought is there

A glass ornament? For a two year old?

BulletFox · 19/12/2017 00:59

Motoko ok it would need to be wrapped up for a few years Grin

I was just trying to remember the only Xmas presents which meant anything over the years

Thank you for the suggestions! Some fab things here!

Loving the knockonwood site twiney it's right up their street. Will get on to them tomorrow re: delivery (we've not long moved and didn't even realise it was christmas in a week! EEEK!)

Ha ha, reminds me of the time I bought ceramic money boxes in the shapes of trains, cars etc (there's another idea for you OP?) for my nieces and nephews as DSis said they had ridiculous amounts of clothes and toys and I was surprised that they wanted to play with them Grin.

Thanks for the suggestion of the beat bugs and that frog scraper thing - future ideas for toddler great nephew.

twiney · 19/12/2017 06:52

@BarbaraofSevillle
Yeah they have scrapers in all sorts of cute shapes and designs so perfect if your great nephew has an "obsession animal"!

Ended up finding this on Amazon after not being sure re: delivery would come in time for the other site.
