What have we done now?

SoupDragon · 18/12/2017 12:11

I've never heard of him - should I have?

Voice0fReason · 18/12/2017 12:11

School Christmas performance photos thread.
Should permission be required?
He's just asking the same question.

TeenTimesTwo · 18/12/2017 12:15

Is he actually putting the reasoned arguments why some parents need photo restrictions wrt social media in place? Or just letting people jump in with the 'do people think their is a paedo round every corner' straw man argument?

ButDoYouAvocado · 18/12/2017 12:17

His wife co wrote the mumsnet cookbook so i cant imagine him being particularly anti mumsnet.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 18/12/2017 12:17

He does like to froth.

Voice0fReason · 18/12/2017 12:22

He's just discussing it, not really taking a scorched earth stance.
He is critical of people filming on tablets or phones in a way that disturbs other people trying to watch the performance.
It's not really about Mumsnet, it is a discussion inspired by that thread.

TheHolidayArmadillo · 18/12/2017 12:24

Ah fair enough then.

PETRONELLAS · 18/12/2017 12:25

Yes yes not really about Mumsnet. Bit DM.
He declared the cook book. I usually like him. Very agile verbally, usually on the side of ‘right’ but tends to be repetitive and insincerely humble. And if he says ‘binary’ then I silently say ‘kerching’ about five times a day.

He's a bit too 'right-on' for me. His diatribes seem a bit sanctimonious, as if he's lording it over his listeners. I agree with his opinion in the main but the whole self-appointed 'man of the people' schtick is wearisome.
