My DH has had a HALO procedure on his piles. It's a ligation of the blood vessel supplying the pile and then he has had the sack stitched up (sorry TMI)
He is in agony down there and can't sleep.
Anyone any experience? What can I do to help the pain? He can only have paracetamol and ibuprofen as anything else could block him up. He is on laxatives to help.
What else can we do??

Call 111 and ask for advice

Can you get in touch with someone where he had it done and ask their advice? A relative of mine had this done a couple of years ago,and he said he was in a fair bit of discomfort after but not severe pain. Best to get it checked out OP.

He had it done on the NHS but at a private hospital as it's not available at an NHS hospital around here. He was going to give them a call on Monday, but he seems a bit better this evening.
The procedure itself isn't painful, it's the stitching of the sack that has hurt him.
He is now on a liquid diet of smoothies and soup and icecream, that seems to be helping, along with the laxative!
