Just found out (through non official channels) that my Work has gone bust and none of us are going to be paid
To make matters worse my boss took us out for our Christmas meal last Friday and spent £1000 on 11 of us for food and drink, all the while sitting there knowing we weren’t going to be paid.

Due to the xmas holidays it’s really going to be well into January before I’d start a new job and to make matters worse I currently finish at 3pm (and Work from Home) and the afterschool club (in rural village) is full apart from fridays so no childcare and finding a job that finishes at 3 is rare.

Just having a rant, I know I ANBU to think my boss is a twat.

I’m so sorry OP that’s really shit. Shitty situation anyway, made worse by the boss wasting money on food and drink rather than salaries, and by finding out unofficially before being told properly.

I’m less upset about the money (if we cancel some things and tighten our belts we can survive on DHs pay) I’m more upset that it’s going to be bloody hard to find another job that fits in with non existent childcare. I have 3 kids in primary school so almost impossible to find anywhere that has space for 3, the only childminder that serves the school is full as well as the afterschool club.

No one suggested yet that you could become a childminder?
