Christmas cards

AIBU to send DS in with Christmas Cards for his entire class? Bit of background....

DS (6) is at an International School here in the UK and has decided he really wants to do Christmas cards for all his class. He struggles really badly with reading and writing and has put so much work into it - drawing a picture of each child in their card and writing his name.

The worry I have is that several of the children in the the class (I don't know which ones) are Muslim and Jewish. The cards he's done are ones with his own design on and do have 'Merry Christmas' on.

We're not remotely religious and celebrate Christmas culturally rather than ecclesiastically but I'm torn between not wanting to leave any child out and not wanting to offend? Very possible I'm overthinking it and quite happy to be put right.

overthinking. All kids in the class get one in my book. If they stick them.in the recycling, so be it.

There is a kid in my sons class who deasnt celebrate Halloween because it is "satanic". Her mother refused the pack of Haribos given out at the Halloween Disco she wasnt allowed to attend. Her loss.

Send them in. I doubt anyone will be offended, it Christmas here and cards are normal.

Thanks guys - he's so excited to hand them out I couldn't stand to tell him he had to leave some out.

DD has already had one from her Muslim classmate.

Send them in. I wouldn't worry too much about the religious aspect. My friend's husband is Muslim and celebrates Xmas with her and her family who are Catholic (well lapsed but anyway!)

Your DS sounds like a lovely, thoughtful and creative boy. I'm sure his classmates will be really pleased with their cards.

And yes, you're overthinking! I get Christmas cards from Jewish and Muslim friends.

I have Muslim (and Hindu ) relatives who are happy to celebrate Christmas as well as their own religious celebrations.
I'm sure your DS's classmates will not be remotely offended or upset.
