Getting over a severe chest infection.... honestly the coughing alone has driven everyone in this house mad to the point were i sleep downstairs to let hubby sleep. Any hoo..... for the last three days I have continuously needed to yawn..... to the point were my jaw sometimes locks as I'm opening my mouth so much and so wide . It hurts and I don't feel like I'm getting enough air in my lungs. I have to sleep sitting up..... I almost get panickinly sometimes when it feels like I'm breathless. I kept thinking when I wake up oh I'll feel better today. But it's been a week now and no sign of feeling any better? Aibu to see my doctor about it? I'm late 30s by the way and couple of stone overweight if that helps?

I went to see the nurse about a chest infection and she referred me to an Asthma nurse for an assessment. It turns out that I don't have asthma but need an inhaler when I have an illness. Perhaps you're the same and this may help you? It's worth getting checked out.

No, YWNBU to get it checked out, I had pneumonia and needed an inhaler afterwards. I mentioned to the GP that I was yawning all the time, and she told me it was because I wasn't getting enough air, and was to use my inhaler when it happened.

YANBU. You could also be having a panic attack. Ask GP for apptmt. If you get told It's weeks for apptmt, then ask for on call GP to Triage your symptoms.
