I have been granted legal aid for help with a family court issue on the basis my exh was physically abusive.
I have to pay an amount towards it each month for the duration of the legal issue. I paid my contribution just over 2 weeks ago and the legal aid agency are yet to issue the certificate so my solicitor can actually do some work for me.
Until he gets the certificate his hands are tied.
I have to pay my next contribution in just over a week and as yet, no work has been done on my case.
It’s so frustrating I don’t understand why it’s taking so long. I rang them last week to be told the certificate would be issued that day only for it still to have not been.
AIBU to think that it’s not right for any service to take your money and then not provide you with what was promised in a timely manner let alone where legal services are required?
