To ask what sort of ring you would choose...

If you replaced your wedding band and engagement ring?

Both were stolen several months ago in the gym, they were pretty worthless in terms of monetary value (silver band and a cocktail ring as I don't like flashy engagement rings) but were sentimentally valuable of course.

My finger now feels bare.

Is this where Eternity rings come in? DH has said we're going to choose a replacement/s in January but I can't stand the thought of just a replica so want something different. Budget would be about £300-£500 maybe.

Help!

Well what kind of thing do you like?

I'd get something with rub over stone settings so you can wear it without stones catching perhaps?

I would buy antique/second hand rings. You get much more for your money and the value of new jewellery drops massively once bought. The other plus is that you may be able to find more unique designs, not the generic ones available currently.

My wedding ring is plain gold so i would want the same again - with something like this to go with it.

Look at rings online, Pinterest for example. Get what you like. I also wonder if you could have a vow renewal to rededicate your rings to make them special in their own right, rather than replacements?

I would want a claddagh for my engagement ring and a band that fit around it.

Yes, I chose an eternity ring because my fingers got too fat for my wedding and engagement rings. I was under 7st when I got married, so understandably Ive put on a bit of weight over the past 15 years.

I went for an eternity style ring to replace both. DH gave it to me for my 40th.
