I was sooooooooooo cross when I got to Sains and wanted to have lunch with ds and it was Starbucks. Nothing suitable for ds and it cost me £5 for a lousy egg sarnie and a coffee!!

was well miffed.

j's has gone shit - there is no good food for veggies and always sold out - bring back the old j's

MrsSpoon · 20/04/2007 17:18

Oooh, wish we had a Sainsbos locally, I have a bit of a bad coffee shop habit and would be quite chuffed with a Starbucks.

collision · 20/04/2007 17:21

Not when Ds wanted fishfingers and beans and I got him a banana and nut muffin, MrsS!!

He was so annoyed! And they wanted to charge me extra for eating it in the cafe!!

So, I said takeaway to make it cheaper and ate in the cafe anyway!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

That's a shame.

My DSs have picked up on my coffee shop habit too and are quite partial to a panini so I suppose that helps, although admittedly it doesn't help the bank balance.

I know Fio! I saw them and thought 'what a ripoff'

i just wanted a sains sandwich and a cheap coffee and not be charged for eating in a scruffy cafe.

I might write a letter.

We have starbucks at our local sains, I love it! Do the shopping first thing in the morning then get a decent coffee to take with me to soft play or M&T.

Kelly1978 · 20/04/2007 17:32

Oh I jsut realised who the OP is - will wavew next time I go to starbucks, collision!

Kelly1978 · 20/04/2007 17:33

I've heard abotu that one, the dts are probably old enough for that now too. Are you free on monday by any chance?

Otherwise I have a pretty busy week, the boys are in pre-school tues and thurs mornings now, at the lesisure center, just started last thursday.

Troutpout · 20/04/2007 17:52

Starbucks is a rip off. I don't think there are any cafes in our town where you can get basic cafe fodder now...it's all farking paninis and nutty muffins or roasted vegetable chiabattas..

Rachmumoftwo · 20/04/2007 17:56

Wetherspoons can be a nice place for coffee etc. They do a good cooked brekkie and are pretty child friendly round here too. We are slowly taking it over....
Can't do your grocery shop there though!

collision · 20/04/2007 19:05

At the moment I am free on Monday Kelly.

What do you fancy doing? Starbucks?

Soz, I am having a moan about this one....Starbucks in Sains where I live, there coffee is foul. I Totally agree....not great food however at least we can have fruit or a decentish snack. Starbucks is gross, enen if in London would rather a Costa.

stleger · 20/04/2007 21:10

Tut - I love Sainsbury's cafes in the UK, I don't want Starbucks. Or Lily O'Briens sandwich bars which tried to charge a friend four euros for a toddler's bread and butter - it was a 'sandwich' allegedly.

littleducks · 20/04/2007 21:27

i used to go to sainsburies just for the starbucks they even did nct coffee mornings there for a while!

just open new mahoosive sainsburies near me, with what was described in local paper as a 'starbucks style' cafe, so i was so disapointed when i arrived to find boring food, spotty insolent teenage staff and no lift with only two tables on ground floor (both occupied) so i flounced with my buggy.

Apparently the manager spent the rest of the day carrying pushchairs up for mums who read local paper too.

stleger · 20/04/2007 21:44

I like sainsbury cafes as they are quite cheap, and ds likes the hot chocolate!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 20/04/2007 21:47

Sainsbury's cafe at our local is FAB. Its just had a refit too! The whole store was closed last week and neither Tesco's or Morrisons came close. Both were MORE expensive too.

suedonim · 20/04/2007 22:30

Last time I went to Sainsbo's the cafe was disgustingly dirty. I emailed a complaint but all I got was a reply from HQ, not the branch concerned, and a measly 1000 extra points on my card.

dmo · 20/04/2007 23:03

well my local asda has a sh**ty Mc Donalds in instead of a nice cafe
started doing online shopping now and drinking my own coffee while i shop

vixma · 20/04/2007 23:08

Kelly1978 · 21/04/2007 16:07
