Work up to an email to check my national lottery account straight away.
I've won £3.
So excited and then so disappointed in a matter of minutes.
Do you think they should have tell you the amount in the email first do you don't get your hopes up?
In other news how shall I spend my winnings?

YANBU it's a farce.

How to spend your £3 - my rule is normally save half and spend half but as it's nearly Christmas I'd blow it all on some Lindt ball things Xmas Grin

I’ve always felt there should be different levels to the subject line of the email:

“News about your ticket” = ‘Youve won four quid”

“Exciting news about your ticket” = “Youve won more than £500

“Life changing news about your ticket” = “Youve won more than £500k”

I can understand why they don't reveal the amount as confidentiality would be blown, but no ones getting excited over a £3 win are they?

Mia1415 · 09/12/2017 08:05

Haha it’s awful! I’ve already mentally spent my millions before discovering I’ve won £3. Oh the disappointment!

GeekyWombat · 09/12/2017 08:14

@WeatherDependent Tesco is doing limited edition Mint flavour Lindor balls. It’d be rude not to...

SouthWestmom · 09/12/2017 08:16

I've always wondered if it would be the same email if you won loads. There are those adverts with people being told on the phone, so would it say to call them?

lostpurplehoodie · 09/12/2017 08:19

If you’re out of the country you can’t log into your account so you have to wait until you come home to find out that you’ve won £3. Keeping that hope for your whole holiday is exhausting! Grin

I'm with @GeekyWombat. That "news about your ticket" is awful.....I think there should be levels of excitement! 😂

MissionItsPossible · 09/12/2017 08:21

I remember the first time I played the lottery online and received an email from them with the subject: "Exciting news about your ticket" My god, I remember my hand shaking as I was trying to move the mouse to click the email thinking I was a millionaire. I'd won £10! Disappointed was an understatement.
