To have asked these men to stop blocking the road....

We have new houses being built next to us and so consequently the road on the other side of us is being dug up to lay power cables.
Work started last week. Mud everywhere and lots of other problems. At the bottom of the road is sheltered accommodation for the elderly.
Went to go down the road this afternoon on my bicycle. (don't drive). Car in front of me had to turn round as the workmen had blocked the whole road with a dumper truck. (Not the first time!!!)
I had to ride up the kerb to get past. I said to the man that I didn't think it was the best idea to block the road. (there is somewhere else to put dt). Man said sorry sulkily. I then went on to say what would they do if an emergency vehicle wanted to get past?
There is another road but emergency vehicles would have been delayed.
I was very pleased to see the dt had been moved when I came back.

Umm no?

But they apologised and then moved.

What's the problem?

84CharingCrossRoad · 08/12/2017 21:17

The problem is that they think it's ok to block the road on more than one occasion!!!

Do they think it's ok? Did they actually say that?Confused

84CharingCrossRoad · 08/12/2017 21:20

No they didn't but surely they should have the sense not to block the road!

There's another road. You were able to get by on your bike. A work person was there to move the truck.

WorraLiberty · 08/12/2017 21:47

How is this even threadworthy? Confused

Someone blocks road

You suggest they move

They apologise and move
