To ask how much your 2 year old weighs

posting for traffic

I've not really weighed my son much since the early days, he eats well moves up clothes sizes so I've not worried. Recently he seems to be skinnier and his trousers are too big. I've weighed him. And I'm. Shocked that he's not much more than he was at 1.

He was always between the 50th and 75th centipede and is now below 25th and only 11.1kgs.

Should I be worried?

I feel like the worst mother for not noticing sooner.

That's quite a drop but if he eats well I'd probably assume it's from being more active - if you're worried chat to your hv though?

My nearly 2yo is 22lb (just less than 10kg) but has always been between the 2nd and 9th centiles and is skinny, so for him it's normal. I don't think other people's children's weights will help you out much here!

ScarletBegonia1234 · 08/12/2017 15:01

My 2.5 year old is tall and slim but over 14kg... though that doesn't mean you should panic as all children are different and have growth spurt at different times. As you have dropped a couple of centile I'd be tempted to check in with the health visitor or go jyst for an opinion

YCAWS · 08/12/2017 15:03

My 2.5yo DD is 15.5kg but she's also 103cm!

Nicnak2223 · 08/12/2017 15:04

He's got his 2 year ar check in just over a week so will bring it up then.

I know other weights probably won't help me but I felt like I wanted to find out something that might help me.

My daughter is two years six months and she's 12.6 kg, I think that puts her at about 50th on the chart.
I wouldn't worry, 25th is fine he hasn't dropped off the charts or anything.

Ecureuil · 08/12/2017 15:06

2 year 5 month old is about 14.2 kg but she’s been 98th centile since birth.
4 year old on the other hand is 14.3kg!

MayFayner · 08/12/2017 15:08

DS2 is 23mo and 13kg. He's tall too but I'm not sure what his exact height is. He's fine anyway (he's DC3 Grin )

caraway33 · 08/12/2017 15:49

My 22month dd weights 12.5kg (86cm), she only put on around 1kg since 10months old.

FlakeBook · 08/12/2017 23:34

My three year old dd weighs 26lbs and she's tall.

Healthy bodies come in all shapes and sizes.

FlakeBook · 08/12/2017 23:35

That's 11.7kg, just converted it

I think that if he has gained no weight in a year then you need to have a chat with your health visitor rather than posting on MN about it. I'm sure all is well, 1/4 of DC are 25th or below for weight and some DC are very slim but it's quite a drop. Dd1 was 10.5kg at 20 months (I remember, she was weighed in hospital) but she's been a slight little thing from birth (and still is now many years later!)
