to ask my ex

JoshHommesWife · 06/12/2017 12:39

I've been broken up with my ex for nearly 2 months.

I miss him and we text regularly. I've met up with him about 7 times since we split.

However, we had an argument over the weekend where he accused me of "ignoring him" (didn't reply to a text for a day!!!)

AIBU to text him today and ask him for a coffee?

Why did you break up?

GrimDamnFanjo · 06/12/2017 12:42

Er yes. Unless there's something you've not told us, just go no contact. You've broken up. This isn't helping you to move on.

molifly · 06/12/2017 12:42

It sounds like he's your ex but you don't want him to be, you want to be back on.

If so - does he feel the same? In my experience friendships rarely come from Ex relationships. Most of the time you either need to be together or cut ties.

Wolfiefan · 06/12/2017 12:43

You don't text an ex or have coffee with them. You're not in a relationship.

You need to define some appropriate boundaries.

Depends why did you break up? Do the issues of why you broke up still exist? If he did break up then he may be keeping you on a leash in which case no coffee clean break. If you broke up and he want s to get back together but you dont coffee and txting is you stringing him along. I dont think you can rush into being friend s if thats what you want. Platonic friends after breakup is hard and takes a long while.

If you both regret breakup or needed some space had it and realised you are meant to be sure have coffee.
