Potatoe vedge bake

insancerre · 01/12/2017 20:16

A member of my staff wrote this today
I presume she meant potato veg bake
I'm going to have to sack her
Or kill her
Or take away her pen or something

Aibu to be contemplating any of the above?

Beat her with a leek?

KiaOraAura · 01/12/2017 20:18

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

BTW I read it as vadge. There's a thought. . . . Definitely sack her if that's the case

Ttbb · 01/12/2017 20:19

You've completely misunderstood. She didn't mean Porato veg bake, she meant Russian Potato Veg bake.
In soviet Russia, vedge bake you!

HemanOrSheRa · 01/12/2017 20:20

Ooh. Maybe Potato WEDGE bake? Take away her pen, sack her, THEN kill her Grin.

John4703 · 01/12/2017 20:21

YANBU.

Sacking her is BU.
Killing her humanly is BU
A slow lingering painful death is NBU

insancerre · 01/12/2017 20:22

It was definitely veg
I asked a second member of staff

Beat her with a leek

Surely that should be “leak”

HemanOrSheRa · 01/12/2017 20:27

Oh well. Definitely make sure you get her pen. Precious things, pens. People are always nicking pens round 'ere.

RJnomore1 · 01/12/2017 20:29

I also read it as vadge

So it could have been worse

insancerre · 01/12/2017 20:30

It could have been worse
I had to read it to the parents

Taffeta · 01/12/2017 20:31

Revoke her pen license immediately

And screen ban until she passes a basic spelling test

FFS

RJnomore1 · 01/12/2017 20:36

I read the pens in the post above mine wrongly too

I've not even had a drink

AtleastitsnotMonday · 01/12/2017 20:39

Our school regularly serves yougurt

insancerre · 01/12/2017 20:40

I might demote her to a pencil
Then I can rub it out
But, then, she will never learn the error of her ways
No one ever told me that being a manager would be this difficult

yorkshireyummymummy · 01/12/2017 20:43

You are not in the least unreasonable to want to beat her with a leek and maybe shove a carrot somewhere painful.
I have to confess to clicking in this thread simply because it didn't have loads of replys yet and I wondered if anybody had corrected your spelling because I was going to so I could feel smug
I think I'm a bad person.
I going to revoke my own pen licence ( have to write the Christmas cards in crayons then!!!)

CheshireChat · 01/12/2017 20:49

So not only she didn't double check, you're the one that was embarrassed in front of parents?

You sure you haven't annoyed her recently?

I'm quite disappointed though, I was hoping for a recipe.

insancerre · 01/12/2017 21:05

A recipe?
I'm not even sure potatoe vedge bake exists
I've never seen it on the menu
I've never thought, "I just fancy potatoe vedge bake for tea tonight"

OP posts:
Moanyoldcow · 01/12/2017 21:12

Does this information get disseminated? Or is it just for you?

I'd have vommed a bit in my mouth reading it though...

CheshireChat · 01/12/2017 21:14

True, but I just thought you didn't preview your post or something and were about to share an amazing recipe if potato wedge bake.

Can you tell I'm hungry?

TrinitySquirrel · 01/12/2017 21:19

"Beat her with a leek" Blush

I'm fucking crying laughing!
