- to refuse to buy the Barbie doll with the 'Cat That Wees'

DD4, wanted the Barbie doll with the dog that poos last Christmas. I gave in and she played with it once. Now on kids' TV she's seen an advert for Barbie with a cat that wees and her birthday is coming up and she's desperate for it. I can't believe they market this rubbish.

What is the next bad taste toy to come out - binge drinking vomitting Bratz?

NOt unreasonable to refuse any Barbie/bratz dolls I hate them!

kittypants · 18/04/2007 21:37

better than the dog that poos!

powder28 · 18/04/2007 21:38

I have seen a doll outside a pound shop with a tattoo and a mini skirt!!!

powder28 · 18/04/2007 21:39

I was obsessed with Barbie when i was little so i can understand your dd's desperation.

Beauregard · 18/04/2007 21:39

Are you sure it was a doll though powder?

Beauregard · 18/04/2007 21:40
Wink
MissGolightly · 18/04/2007 21:40

Oh c'mon, how can you resist a weeing cat!?! Seriously I think it sounds highly enticing, tell your DD I will go halves; she can keep the barbie and I'll have the weeing cat.

Actually come to think of it I have a weeing cat of my own and perhaps don't need a fake one. But I think it will be good practice for your DD when she is grown up and has animals and children urinating all over her house.

nightowl · 18/04/2007 21:40

hmm, sounds shitty (ahem) but perhaps more realistic than the pregnant barbie who you can just fit a washboard stomach back on!! oh if only......

powder28 · 18/04/2007 21:40

It could have been a very small hooker standing in a miniature phone booth

oliveoil · 18/04/2007 21:42

never buy anything advertised on the tv

you can always fob them off with something else

dd1 wanted the barbie horse that moved (??). Went to shop with my sister as she was buying, doll was 'sold separately' (surprise surprise) and I said over my dead body are you spending £30+ on this shit

so she got some small doll things for a fiver

Whizzz · 18/04/2007 21:43

I bet the next thing will be Barbies horse that poos

Whizzz · 18/04/2007 21:44

(it will come with its own shovel)

pucca · 18/04/2007 21:44

Dd got this for her b'day but i quickly confiscated the litter tray and sand (terrible mother that i am!) dd saw the advert the other day and said "mummy, i must have lost that part"!

nightowl · 18/04/2007 21:54

you lot are odd. don't you want to teach your children to clean up after their pets?

and quite rightly so.

pointydog · 18/04/2007 21:58

I'm with golightly. Sounds like a fantastic toy, a must-have.

I have never seen or heard about these miraculous pets. Much watch the wrong tv.

LowFatMilkshake · 18/04/2007 22:02

I am with MrsWho

I hate Barbie with a passions - we have a no Barbie rule in the house. How long it will last when DD start school who knows. But right now I am in favour of the slogan
"Barbie is a crack wh*re" Not that I say such things in front of my DD

And what really tees me off is that her brand is expanding. DD got a comic from with a whole catalogue of Fairytopea crap in it

MissGolightly · 18/04/2007 22:06

How about I start a line of defecating animals sans barbie?

nightowl · 18/04/2007 22:08

so what kind of pooping animal would a bratz doll have one wonders?

LowFatMilkshake · 18/04/2007 22:11

One of those handbag dogs, complete with a handbag to poo in!

MissGolightly · 18/04/2007 22:12

We could have Hedwig puking up owl pellets.
Timmy out of famous five crapping everywhere.
Bratz would have a massive rottweiler with diamante studded collar.

LowFatMilkshake · 18/04/2007 22:14

Well what about Dora, she goes everywhere with a monkey and you dont see him peeing on her from up a tree??

Ohh we should sell that doll idea to Nich Jr!

LowFatMilkshake · 18/04/2007 22:14

Pissin Boots - as opposed to Puss-in-boots

frances5 · 18/04/2007 22:16

Wait a few months and you might be able to get a second hand one for christmas off ebay.

Good grief, I'm glad that I have a little boy who isnt in to barbie.

chocolattegirl · 18/04/2007 22:33

I'm not having any toys that poo or wee in my house - it was bad enough toilet training DD. I'm not starting with her toys.

Wasn't there a Tiny Tears doll that wet itself though - I'm sure I had one but I never gave it a drink so I never found out if it worked or not!!

GeeGee2 · 18/04/2007 23:53

MissGolightly, I think your defecating animal line is a sure fire money spinner (My Little Pony, animal hospital....) Perhaps you should also add defecating robots or ninjas for the boys though.
