At wits end over lack of large shoe sizes !

My 17 year old DS is a size 14/15 shoe size. The trouble I'm having trying to get a pair online is unbelievable. Shops not worth checking as never have anything over a 13. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions of where I can get a pair of decent large shoes or trainers. ps. He likes Merrell or Mustang types but anything will do. Aaaarrrggghhh ! Smile

I used to date a guy with size 16 feet!! I believe he bought his shoes from High and Mighty - a shop for tall or large men. I think they have an online store, too

Hellywelly10 · 27/11/2017 19:11

Apparently there is a shop in Chichester. And one somewhere in North London???

MaidOfStars · 27/11/2017 19:12

Well, just this morning, I was buying netball trainers and I noticed, for the first time, the very skewed size spectrum offered. They went from size 5 to size 11. I don’t think I’d ever seen female shoes that large before, then remembered that netballers are likely to rather taller than average not me, I’m a midcourt dynamo

So, have you looked at stuff made for basketballs?

MaidOfStars · 27/11/2017 19:14

Although perhaps better to look for stuff made for basketballers, otherwise you enter Tom Hanks/Wiiiiillllson territory.

GiGiraffe · 27/11/2017 19:14

Magnus is in north London & website - is good for larger sizes, not sure how large they go for men's. There is a shop in Windsor bigfootshoes.co.uk

Me264 · 27/11/2017 19:15

Have you tried Jacamo? DH is 6'5" and size 13 shoe, he buys a lot from there (clothes and shoes)

DollyPartonsBeard · 27/11/2017 19:15

My son has 13/14 feet and he reckons German/ Dutch/ American eBay and websites are the places to look.

CMOTDibbler · 27/11/2017 19:16

Jacamo have quite a good range. My nephew (6'8 and a size 14 shoe) buys his from there

ShakeShakeTheMuffin · 27/11/2017 19:16

My SIL has size 9 feet so has the female equivalent problem. Long Tall Sally shoes are so dull. Any suggestions for women too? My brother used to date a woman with size 11 feet. I have no clue where her shoes cane from. I'm betting high and mighty is quite dull too.

crunchtime · 27/11/2017 19:18

My 17 year old as size 15 feet...i feel your pain. We find a website called walktall vry good. Vans also go up to a 15 in some styles. If you have a slater menswear they have a big feet section too.

Thequeenisdeadboys · 27/11/2017 19:18

Thankyou all. I'm checking all this out now. Fingers crossed.

Sorry to hijack, I opened the thread thinking it might be about shoes for women.

sm40 · 27/11/2017 19:34

I have size 9 feet. I get them from new look and now primark do a few large sizes. Also that new shop diechten (or something like that) do a few ranges in large sizes. Simply be too. My feet are also wide. I do not have an extensive shoe collection. It's just not a joy, as the styles seem to go granny style for large feet. I'm lucky to find anything I like!
Sorry to hijack thread. Good luck in finding shoes. My 11yr ds has size 8s. I can see this being a problem too!

19lottie82 · 27/11/2017 19:36

Try m and m direct, they have a lot of large sized trainers and at decent prices too

grannytomine · 27/11/2017 19:37

Brontano used to do a few, haven't been for years as son is old enough to buy his own shoes now.

Thequeenisdeadboys · 27/11/2017 19:52

Thankyou. Just managed to to find a new pair on american ebay. I'm still looking though.. thanks again all.

Sheesh, DS1 (15yo) is size 13 and I thought that was bad enough!

Reading this thread with interest for his dainty feet Grin

Amanduh · 27/11/2017 20:11

For women, New Look do a good range. www.newlook.com/uk/womens/footwear/shoes/size-9-shoes/c/uk-womens-footwear-shoes-size-9

Men - Jacamo and Walk Tall.

Huskylover1 · 27/11/2017 20:13

Oh gosh, I feel for you. DH is a size 12, and I am constantly tripping over his boots. Can't imagine how huge a size 14 would be!

perpetuallybewildered · 27/11/2017 20:14

www.2tall.com/

I’ve bought some things from here as gifts. Excellent quality and customer service.

Tainbri · 27/11/2017 20:15

Definitely Magnus. High and Mighty clothing might too or at least point you in the right direction.

RavingRoo · 27/11/2017 20:17

I would import from the USA.

BikeRunSki · 27/11/2017 20:18

Shake Magnus, After Eight, Lands End (beware US sizes). I’m a 9, and find White Stuff 8s to be very generous.

katcatkat · 27/11/2017 20:21

Sports direct (If you can get over the ethics issues) do an range up to a 16 including merrell walking boots
