2 step identification

Aibu to have no idea what to do about 2 step identification when I live in an area with zero mobile network. It is fast becoming a real PIA. How do others deal with this?

Do you have the option of being given codes you can put in. I am sure I have some somewhere ?

Do you have to have it? It keeps asking me to set it up but I don't know what it is so I don't. Iphone6 if that helps.

Unfortunately it seemed to become obligatory after one of the major updates and I’m fairly sure there’s no going back. Might have to call Apple I suppose.

Which network are you on? We have a thing with three where the wifi is used to boost the mobile signal

Its definitely not obligatory on your Apple ID. Some of the features on iOS need it though iirc.

I’m in France and they took down the only antenna about a year ago. We are on Free which doesn’t do the broadband signal boosters sadly.
