Best way to clean a bidet plug

Weak of stomach stop reading now.

New house. Have inherited two bidets. Don't plan to use either but can't get rid just yet.

Have cleaned them as you do when cleaning the bathroom, however whilst washing my hands today, turned round to find DS (20 months) with the plug in his mouth Envy - not envy.

It had hair and [shudders] stuff on it. I've wiped DSs mouth out with mouth wash but I still need to clean the offending article. But how to best get it clean?

It's one of those 'pop up' plugs, so I can't really just chuck it, with out the whole plug hole being on display. Boak.

Pop-up plugs come out.
Put it somewhere safe in some dilute bleach, and then rinse well before replacing.

mineofuselessinformation · 26/11/2017 22:27

Oh, and give it a bit of a scrub after soaking.

munkynutts · 26/11/2017 22:28

Urgh! Fuckin hell!

I wouldnt go near it and would cover it with one of those car or bike covers and surround it with police tape.

MistressPage · 26/11/2017 22:30

Urgh bidets are horrid!

MrsDoyleFallingOutTheWindow · 26/11/2017 22:31

Burn the fucking thing.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 26/11/2017 22:38

I would love a bidet ! But the plug issue never occurred to me

Needadvicetoleave · 26/11/2017 22:54

mine I'm aware they come out, otherwise DS wouldn't have got it in his mouth. I meant as in I can't throw it away.

Bidets are vulgar

bidets are vulgar

Absolutely, scrubbing your dirty bumhole with a length of paper after shitting into a water-filled basin on the other hand..

What makes bidets “vulgar“, exactly?

Katescurios · 27/11/2017 07:19

Just stick some rubber gloves on and give it a scrub with some bleach them rinse with hot water.

No big deal, no worse than scrubbing a toilet.

dontpokethebear · 27/11/2017 07:21

Ahahahahaha! How are bidets vulgar?! That is such a 'mumsnet' thing to say.
Also what clockwork said.

They're perfect for a post shag freshen up Grin

rizlett · 27/11/2017 07:22

You can buy new ones - or pop in it the dishwasher. Shock

I take ours out and scrub with the old toothbrush I use for bathroom nooks and crannies with bathroom cleaner. I squirt some toilet cleaner down the drain hole.

Sparklingbrook · 27/11/2017 07:33

We had a bidet in the house I grew up in. Perfect for bathing Tiny Tears and washing your feet! You could fill it without using the spray.
I thought the plug came out too.
