Can't sleep, DH is asleep next to me but oh my God, the smell... He keeps farting. Tiny little ones which absolutely STINK. WIBU to kill him wake him up and ask him to get out of bed & sleep in the very uncomfortable, cold spare room?
I can't even open the window, it's freezing here 😭

accidently elbow him awake and then tell him to take himself and his rotten bottom to the spare room. 😂

I'm currently waiting for 3 over excited 9 year olds to sleep so I can go to bed. why did I agree to a sleep over?!? 😦

Somethingfantastic89 · 26/11/2017 01:29

If he doesn't want to go to the spare room, make his sleep in a sleeping bag - zip it up all the way Grin

liverbird10 · 26/11/2017 01:52

Saw the thread title and thought "I am not alone!" Grin 17 years I have spent sharing a bed with a foul farting fiend.

InsomniacAnonymous · 26/11/2017 01:53

You're awake and he's asleep, so why don't you go to the spare room?

liverbird10 · 26/11/2017 01:54

Therefore, speaking from hideous experience, you are definitely NOT being unreasonable. Smile

SparklyUnicornPoo · 26/11/2017 02:01

go to the spare room, the smells already in your room. YWNBU to elbow him and get out of bed very loudly first though.

PyongyangKipperbang · 26/11/2017 02:22

Open the window VERY VERY wide and then sleep in the spare room. :o

BeaLola · 26/11/2017 02:34

Open window wide, take duvet with you and go to spare room being noisy as you do so.

Long term plan - do up spare room so it is not uncomfortable in case you have to escape smelll in future.

FeelingAggrieved · 26/11/2017 06:39

"Open window wide, take duvet with you and go to spare room being noisy as you do so."

I hope you're not being serious because he's not doing it on purpose or even aware he's doing it? Needlessly PA.

Psychobabble123 · 26/11/2017 06:42

I agree feeling! Yes the smell might be rank, but he isn't doing it on purpose ffs! If you don't like it OP head to the spare room, don't wake him up to bollock him to an involuntary bodily function Hmm9

InspMorse · 26/11/2017 09:29

Well, I survived the night!

Bea, you're right, the spare room needs to be done up & include a comfortable mattress for nights like these.

However, for those of you who share my pain, I am still alive today because I ingeniously created a cocoon/wall around him with the duvet. I will obviously have to burn it now but it did the trick. Remaining gasses couldn't escape!

I myself used the spare duvet & sprayed a corner of it with perfume to hold against my face. Not quite the same as fresh air but I slept!

My OH is a foul fart stinkarse too.
Many a time has he laughed hysterically when I've been hanging out the car window retching.
But I had to laugh one night when one of his own farts woke him up shouting FFS what is that smell?
He is banished to the spare room every time he has alcohol which makes the farting (and snoring) worse.

InspMorse · 26/11/2017 09:50

Grin cherry

Really smelly farts are usually a sign that you have been eating something that you should not be eating...
